Windows 98 - (VM or not) does not connect to SETI
(Message 2025990)
Posted 2 Jan 2020 by Alex Reinhard Post: Just for testing purposes I have set up a virtual machine with Windows 98 SE and successfully installed BOINC 5.8.16. No errors during setup. When trying to connect to SETI (setiathome.berkeley.edu) I always get the error message "Internet access okay, project servers may be down" - the connection to boincstats/bam is working fine. Windows itself is also fine, no errors or BSOD It is also possible to open several internet sites so the DNS works fine. Trying Version 6 of BOINC does not fix the problem, is there another version that works on Win98? |

Computer suspends work after a few minutes
(Message 648974)
Posted 26 Sep 2007 by Alex Reinhard Post: Hi Andy, there are no error Messages or anything else. Only "Suspending Computation" and "Resuming Computation". The System and other Applications e.g. ping xx.xx.xx.xx -t works fine without any problems. When moving the mouse or pressing any key BOINC will continue. The screensaver doesn´t start. I can view the graphics from the BOINC client. It´s the Gigabyte G965-DS3 Board - This Problem occured also with the P35-Chipset based Mainboard. What does it mean - correct settings? Do you have any examples? Alex |

It is only ONE Computer, the other machines are running fine. Any ideas? Cheers |

WUs in excel?
(Message 637998)
Posted 10 Sep 2007 by Alex Reinhard Post: I´d like to have my WUs in an excel table to see the WUs Ive ever got crunched. It is much work to take them out of the site and I found no way to extract them from the BOINC client. Is there any chance? |
