Upload problems
(Message 905735)
Posted 10 Jun 2009 by Martin P. Post: Hi, since yesterday I see many upload problems with this error message: "Mi 10 Jun 12:34:16 2009 SETI@home Temporarily failed upload of 03ap09aa.4853.1708.10.8.53_0_0: HTTP error" The server status page does not indicate any problems, so what is going on? |

app_info.xml for CUDA and astropulse
(Message 891568)
Posted 5 May 2009 by Martin P. Post: I've downloaded the Lunatics optimised app for Astropulse but inadvertantly removed the seti cuda apps. I asked the same question a while ago, but all I received were confusing links to dedicated CUDA discussions without reference to the combination of Optimized AK v8/Astropulse/CUDA. So don't be dissappointed if you do not receive an answer. |

Science applications do not end when exiting BOINC Manager
(Message 887240)
Posted 22 Apr 2009 by Martin P. Post: I got a new computer and reinstalled BOINC. Since then I face this problem: When I quit BOINC the science apps continue crunching until I log-out. In previous versions of the BOINC-manager there was an option where I could select, that all science apps will be terminated when I quit the BOINC manager. Unfortunately I cannot find this anymore in version 6.6.20. Please help! P.S. I reinstalled BOINC several times just to make sure I did not mess up any options during the install. In other threads there was a lot of discussion about "service-installations" but I could not find any options during setup and install - and I cannot use the "run" option from the Start-menu since this has been disabled by the admins. |

Suspend SETI@Home until Stats export works again
(Message 798583)
Posted 16 Aug 2008 by Martin P. Post: No stats updates for 5 days -> I will suspend SETI@Home until they figured out how to resolve this issue (going on holidays is O.K., but not without replacement!). msattler, I am with SETI@Home for almost 10 years now and I expect a little professionalism by now - or at least some information about ongoing problems on the front page. It is MY computers and MY electricity bill (plus a few donations) that I offer to the team. Therefore it is MY decision to suspend or quit this project if they do not follow the basic rules of customer relations (not to talk about customer satisfaction). |

Posted 2 May 2008 by Martin P. Post: Thanks for the explanations! In fact I had a major system crash a few days ago and had to reinstall the system. I then migrated from an external clone that I did just 2 days earlier. By that I obviously also migrated the "old" work-units. Thanks again. |

Edit: I found even more of these: Task ID: 826932875, Task ID: 826918573, Task ID: 826759895 In all cases the report deadline is May 20th! |

Missing host (actually the old stats are missing after re-attaching)
(Message 704237)
Posted 26 Jan 2008 by Martin P. Post: Have you done computer host merges for those projects: PaperDragon, it is possible that I tried to merge some computers. However, this cannot explain the Climateprediction data for my Mac, since there is no Mac client for 2 years now. So how should it add credit from a Windows machine to a Mac? |

Missing host (actually the old stats are missing after re-attaching)
(Message 702920)
Posted 22 Jan 2008 by Martin P. Post: Thanks to both of you. I do not use an account manager. I am attached to several projects, but only SETI@Home detaches itself from my office computer from time to time. You are right that it always restarts from 0 after that happens. However, it seems that the credit of this host is not completely lost but assigned to my other (home) G5. The hosts stats on BOINCStats is also very weird, since it lists projects that do not even have a Mac client. See my message at their message board: http://boincstats.com/forum/forum_thread.php?id=2853 |

Missing host (actually the old stats are missing after re-attaching)
(Message 702809)
Posted 22 Jan 2008 by Martin P. Post: One of my computers - or better: the statistics - is missing from the hosts stats. I have 2 almost identical PowerMacs G5, one with dual 2.5GHz and one with Dual 2.7GHz processors. The Dual 2.5GHz machine (3378715) is my office computer and it sometimes happens that it unattaches from SETI@Home. No idea why it does that. It's credit is missing from the host stats. I got both Macs in 2005 and they used to have approximately the same amount of credit. It is also possible, that some of the credit is wrongly assigned to my other computer, since the total user credit appears plausible. How can this happen and can anything be done to regain my credit? |
