1) Questions and Answers : Windows : old tasks (Message 796752)

You'd also have to move the client_state.xml file over for this to work.
But aside from that, you mean to tell that the BOINC installer did not migrate your data over to the new directory? I have seen that happen on one of my systems as well, uninstalling 6 and reinstalling it fixed that.

But it seems there is a bug in the installer where it doesn't always work.
I'll forward it to the developers. In the mean time, can you tell what steps you took to install BOINC?

(hint: If you get the attach to wizard, click Cancel on it. Then the migration didn't work. Uninstall BOINC and try again.)

I just shutdown the BOINC and just installed the new version of BOINC.
I'll try to uninstall it and we'll see if it will work. I hope the uninstall won't delete all my tasks...

I upgrade my BOINC to 6.2.16, now there’s a new folder for the project data in programdata. My old tasks is in the BOINC/projects folder. The new version got me a new tasks and it’s in the programdata folder, it won’t use my old tasks.
How can I finish my old tasks, so that it won’t go to waste? I try to copy it to the programdata folder, but won’t work.

This is a message I recieved from the BOINC Alpha mailing list:

BOINC 5.10.45 is now the new stable release for all platforms.

This release is a bug fix release which includes fixes for better proxy support through the use of the <force_auth> configuration option in cc_config.xml which is defined here:

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/ClientMessages

This release also contains fixes for startup/shutdown issues when running on Windows Vista.

Enjoy.

You can download this new version here

Doesn't work. Still blocking the BOINC at the startup...

My Windows Vista is blocking the BOINC at the startup. I upgrade my BOINC to 5.10.30, now you have to manually start it your self.
How can make my Vista start the BOINC at the startup without blocking it?

I'am only using one computer. I think BOINCView is more usefull if you have more than one computer using BOINC. Right?
