I started having problems with the monitor locking up and not responding this AM. I stopped the screen saver and it still happened. The Cuda is set to start after 3.5 min of inactivity and that is about how long it took. Having to reboot the machine every time I want to use it is unacceptable. I have set to no GPU and aborted all 6.09 (cuda 23) tasks.

BTW, guys, we are here to help them not the other way round.

It irritates me to no end when people through creative manipulation of program parameters still have 40 days worth of work while others can't get any work, and then brag around with it.

That used to happen on LHC all the time. Work was sporadic and people would hog as much as possible whenever it became available. It is very annoying but if you just stay away from the forums it is easier to put up with. I rarely read these boards or any others but my comps keep chomping away. My new one is really going to town.

Take care,

I found that the book "Battlefield Earth" by L. Ron Hubbard was a pretty good read. The movie plot doesn't even come close to encompassing the book's content.

So very true, the book was excellent. But then most books are better than the movie.

This looks pretty amazing! Just like on Startrek, no more paper books. It is still too costly but that will come down. I wonder if the ARRL library is on Kindle yet? Probably not but by the time I can afford one it will be!
Thanks Beets!

Hi David! :]]

It may not be a bad idea to wait for the next versions of it because it turns out that there are a few kinks and other things that could be improved. This review of the Kindle by the Salon people is about the best I've seen on the things that still need improvement.

http://machinist.salon.com/feature/2007/11/28/kindle_review/index.html

It's been a while; how're you doing David? :]

Great review! I am doing fine, I don't come here often.
Have a nice day.

P.S. I fixed the link.

WOW!!! Has it ever been a long time since we've seen something truly revolutionary, a knockout gadget or software!

But as of yesterday IT HAS ARRIVED! Of all people this is Amazon's incredible hardware invention, the "Kindle". It not just the size of a pocketbook but thinner than a pencil, it's not just some Wifi portable device, it's not just some new electronic book... It's a whole portable library all in a tiny portable package. It loads itself automatically, anywhere. It's based on the KEV telephone tower system which is everywhere and no more looking for Wifi hotspots. It has an amazing new electronic paper display, no eye strain, no backlighting, you can see it clearly in any light indoors or outdoors. It comes with 250 free blogs, updated several times during the day, you can subscribe to magazines and newspapers and they're delivered to your kindle automatically. Whole books take only 2 minutes to download. You don't need any computer, only your Kindle. No battery fussing and traditional recharging battery problems like with your cell phones.

It's Amazing! It's truly Revolutionary!

You saw it here first! :]]

Take the great Demo Tour:

This should be 24/365 or 24/7/52. Your version doesn't make sense.

Did you know that several tobacco companies also sell food and other products, and that you still support these companies when you buy their non-tobacco products?

Good! Then someday they can phase out tobacco altogether. As long as they make money they don't care how they do it.

I can't understand why anyone would ever want a gun unless for hunting, sport or protection.

That about covers it all. I have guns for all three although I haven't used them in years, except keeping them around for the last reason. I use a bow for sport and hunting now.
