Number crunching :
need to recover files - can it be done
(Message 260398)
Posted 11 Mar 2006 by ![]() Post: We moved a hard drive. I still have access to it but it is no longer the master drive. There were several wu's for 3 projects. I have installed BOINC on the new master and attached to the projects. Can I get it to finish the old wu's or do I just bail on them and start fresh with new ones?you could finish your current work, uninstall boinc from the new system drive, and install it on the secondary drive, let it finish the work it had there (with the "no new work" setting of course) uninstall from the secondary drive and reinstall on the system drive It's worth a shot. I'll try it. Thanks |

Getting started :
coordinating my two accounts
(Message 193449)
Posted 24 Nov 2005 by ![]() Post: I have seti@home classic with a number of completed work units. Sometime in the recent past, I changed the e-mail address to my gmail account. When I try to set it back to my isp addy, it tells me I can't do that because someone else has that addy. IT'S ME with my new BOINC account. Since this g-mail account is post March 2005, I can't get it to tie the two accounts together. any suggestions??? ideas? I don't want to lose my work for the past few years. |
