Do I NEED to use BOINC 5?
(消息 221999)
发表于:27 Dec 2005 作者: PCRacer Post:
since the 'official' client is only @ 5.2.13 http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php why reco these? where are they? are they beta/test versions? are they 'official' releases? is it necessary to have a specific client that will eventually auto update or will boinc give you a message when the hosts running 4.xx - 5.1.x are no longer compatable?? |

One Giant Error
(消息 219354)
发表于:21 Dec 2005 作者: PCRacer Post: i see this error occasionally on some of my results too...along with everyone recieving that same w/u... if you look @ the other w/u reports...they all give the same info. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=42253434 SETI@Home Informational message -9 result_overflow NOTE: The number of results detected exceeds the storage space allocated. what does this mean? & why does it sometimes give a little credit & other times nothing? i see credit usually given when all w/u report the same info, but other times when only one returns w/that error msg no credit is given & it resends the w/u to another user...it seems odd to put blame on the host machine. i'm abit confused...is this a client error? w/u error? boinc error? |

Upgrading BOINC
(消息 142275)
发表于:24 Jul 2005 作者: PCRacer Post: i just upgraded my boinc 4.18/4.25 to the current version 4.45, by doing an uninstall/install via the windowz control panel & it kept the project folder & all the wu's. but now when boinc starts, it says it's resuming computations for result xxxxxxxxx using seti@home version 4.18. is this correct? will it update itself after the current wu's are complete? should i let the current wu's finish w/o downloading new ones, then delete everything in the projects/seti folder? i'm kinda lost on this one... You should uninstall the previous version, ONLY after backing up the entire BOINC folder. |
