President Carter announced stealth technology when he cancelled the original B-1 which President Reagan started back up. The SR71 started life as the A-12, then changed to F-12 as a mach 3 interceptor. The original A was because of funding problems in getting the project started. When congress refused to fund the XB-70, the Airforce tried to get it funded by changing it to the SR-70 for strategic reconnaissance, also refused. Still needing a replacement for the U-2, the radar and infared detectors on the F-12 were removed, the nose chines were carried all the way forward, which improved performance, the missle bays were changed to camera bays and the designation changed to SR-71. This was not done in secret. I was reading about it as it was being done back in the late 50s and early 60s. The secret items were and are the capabilities of systems, top speed and altitude. The J-58 engines were secret, but I have lately found information about them on the internet. I have also found a lot of mis-information about the SR-71 on the internet.

During Vietnam, the military had several items that would be of use in Iraq. One of them was the ability to pinpoint the source of hostile fire by microwave radar. Perhaps, this is what it is.

Unless you are disabled, you can not draw on social security until you are 62 and then at 75% of what you would draw if you wait until 65. An age adjustment and a small increase to the limit on taxable income would solve the problem, but the rich don't want to pay more, so that won't happen. After the great depression, the republicans lost control of congress. They fought tooth and nail against FDRs programs to put Americans back to work. Namely the WPA, the CCC, and Social Security. They were social programs and republicans have never met a social program that they liked. Investment houses have wanted, ever since social security started, to get their hands on the money. This is the main reason for the changes that Bush is trying make, not to save social security, but to phase it out and help the rich make more money by getting more people to invest. This will also bring the Con Artists out in droves offering all kinds of investments designed to part you from your retirement. Remember "A fool and his money are soon parted", con artists depend on that.

I'm curious how many have been to as many places as I have.

Places I have visited outside of the US mainland, compliments ot the US Air Force as a flight engineer on the C141A cargo jet transport.

Addis Abba and Asmara, Ethiopia
Terhan, Iran
Incirlik, Turkey
Negev desert, Jordan
Beruit, Lebenon
Athens and Thessoniki, Greese
Pisa, Italy
Frankfort, Neurnberg, Bonn and Ramstien, Germany
Madrid, Rota and Zaragosa, Spain
Greenham Common AB Newbury, England
Oslo, Norway
The Azores
Reyflavik, Iceland
Thule, Greenland
Goose Bay, Labrador
Porta Rico
Guamtomino, Cuba
Fairbanks and Ankorage, Alaska
Honolula, Hawaii
Wake Island
Guam
Clark AB and Cubi Bay, Philippines
Yokata AB, Japan
Kadena AB, Okinawa
Tageau AB, Korea

Viet Nam, Saigon, Bein Thui, Camroon Bay and
many forgotten places

Thailand, Bangtok, NKP, many forgotten
places

First hitch was in the Army during Korean war.
It ended before I went to Korea, but I did go
to Japan. We sailed from New Orleans through
the Panama Canal to the northern island of
Hokkaido. There I was at Inewa, Chitose and Sapporo.
Went over on the troop ship Gaffey and returned
on the Morton to Seattle. We departed Japan in
the tail end of a typhoon because the ship captain
wanted to see a baseball game in Seattle. Everybody
got seasick. I was ok until I was made to go below
decks that night. Puke all over the place, including the
water fountains. I was sick for three days. The mess
cook gave me a dry biscuit and a sour pickle to cure the
seasickness. !!It worked!!

I think NASA should develop a new Pioneer space craft to investigate. It should be designed with maximum power for communication. Perhaps the Pluto mission could carry this out. The article also mentioned relativity as a possible cause. As the suns gravity decreases, time is effected.
