My computer is at 28:39 and counting, 58.9% completed, 15:16 to completion (but probably really another 24 hours). My client will end up claiming 300 credits (if it takes 2-2.5 days to complete it) when the other two of 4 are only claiming 86, making me think my machine is tripping it wrong.

Going by the other two machines, it took them around 18-20 hours to complete. Is my machine going to screw up the work unit? Should I abort it? I aborted a WU a week or two ago that ran 18 hours or so with about 2% progress. That was on 5.12 though. This WU is on 5.15.

CPU fans are fine. Looks like I cannot run the main X-plane game and the plane maker (or airfoil maker) simultaneously with the new driver version. The screen flickers and then the main x-plane crashes (app crash not BSOD or system crash). Both of the last two big crashes on my old video drivers that coruppted my BOINC were from me switching between x-plane and plane-maker.

I updated it. DirectX is 9.0c and its on PCI-E 16x. Maybe that will fix it. You can see the computer name 'Inca' here -- http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/hosts_user.php?userid=51993 . It has been apparently duped four-fold from the last BSOD. Yes I know i can merge it but I don't feel like checking all 5 projects right now. Can I fixed my orphaned LHC workunits? Theres about 5 days total work with 2 of completed. There are also 3 'lost' CPDN work units, 2 from this crash, 1 apparently from the last crash.

10) Message boards : Number crunching : BOINC is NOT robust against BSOD / lockups (Message 238675) Posted 28 Jan 2006 by YeshuaAgapao Post: X-Plane (8.32 this time) BSOD on the video driver (nv4disp), instead of locking up on the machine. Seems to be about twice a week. the BSOD took out most of BOINC's setings and SETI is back to the currupt banner.jpg thing and LHC's .exe is missing and both LHC and einstein did resets. I managed to get my LHC work copied. BOINC seems to leave the orphaned work in the directories. I found 3 orphaned CPDN workunits. Is there any way I can get these reconnected? and can the dev people make BOINC more robust against hard crashes by bad games and buggy video drivers?

12) Message boards : Number crunching : New WorkUnits go 'download error' before even the first workunit starts downloading (Message 237806) Posted 26 Jan 2006 by YeshuaAgapao Post: I'm running BOINC 5.2.13 and it has the vanillia 4.18 seti client. It gets the WUs allocated but before even the first download starts tranferring in the tranfer screen, ALL the seti workunits go 'download error', but it continues downloading the workunits, but won't process them. The machine is a Alienware 7700m laptop with a desktop Intel 550 processor (3.4GHZ HT, 1meg cache). None of the projects other than SETI seem to be broken but i'm not sure as it just don't want to download work for them (project share quota probably). LHC did go through a complete reset and Einstien a partial reset after the x-plane full machine lock-up crash and both got new computer entries which i merged. SETI and CPDN had no such reset.

It started after x-Plane (8.21; i upgraded recently to 8.32 though) locked up the entire machine and i had to push and hold-in the off button. This computer wants to download only SETI workunits right now and its running out of einstein workunits and work altogether (it gas a CPDN unit and it ran out of LHC WUs). Please help!
