Not sure about whether the PM feature will cause problems but we'll see.

Can always be removed from certain people if absolutely necessary, so everyone should be ok.

Could you try registering again with a different e-mail address. Thanks.

See you on there soon.

Following on from my posts in this thread here.

For people that may want a change or to try something new, or even just to use a forum with more features, I have set up an independently run Unofficial Cafe SETI Forum which can be found here. There are no, and never will be any, charges for using this forum.

Just to give you an idea of some of the features:

# Picture Uploading
# Email-like private messaging system
# Personal Profiles
# Message formatting with various font styles and sizes as well as allowing quoting, code display, image posting and automatic URL linking
# Support of standard and extended BBCode tags
# Polls can be simply added to posts
# Email notification of replies to your topics
# Powerful topic subscription capability

The list goes on...and on...

Anyway, I hope this may be of use? What do you think?

It should be noted that this idea has 'not been discouraged or endorsed however' by SETI@Home.

See you there.

If it is 92.9p per litre here that works out at the current exchange rate to $6.69USD per US gallon (assuming 1 US gallon = 3.7854118 litres)

I need to allow my users who are in the "Power Group" to be able to install software, WITHOUT adding them to administrator group...is there a way to do this by modifyig the local security policy? If so, what variable is it?

All Microsoft software 'should' (We all know what Microsoft is like!) have the correct permissions to install if the user is a Power User. Other companies software, well...your guess is as good as mine!

Hi all,

In the not too distant past, I was thinking (Yeah, I know….dangerous!) that apart from SETI@Home and any other BOINC/distributed computing projects, will anybody do anything for nothing anymore?? All sense of community spirit seems to have been lost! (Well, over this side of the pond it has!)

So…..as an attempt to ‘restore’ some community spirit, I have set up a completely FREE to use, no catch (I promise), international classifieds directory, so people can buy and sell their things online for FREE. This is not intended as a commercial message, but that of an informative one that I hope you all may find useful, and help, once again, to bring a sense of community back!

Please visit FlogIt4Free.com – there might be stuff just dying to be turned into a crunching farm!

Thanks,

Jonathan

I believe that if you look MS has "officially" stopped supporting 98 so I believe it is now legal to use without a license.

Windows 98 is still supported (3rd world still use it so microsoft had to be seen to "care") still unlikly to cause license problems though.

Other option would be to subscribe to MAPS (have to have set up a "computer business" but for around £250 you get multiple licences of basically all Microsoft products, from SBS 2003, XP Pro, Office 2003 to OneNote etc etc http://www.microsoft.com/uk/partner/sales_and_marketing/actionpack/

Unsure if similar offer in US??

Hope this might help
