If you only want to crunch data while the screen saver is active, then the only question you need to answer is "Do work while computer is in use?" to "No."

However, if I may make a suggestion, I'd say leave it to "yes" since SETI-BOINC uses the lowest priority in Windows (it gives up all your CPU time to just about anything else) so as to appear as if it's not even running. It won't interfere with your day-to-day usage and you shouldn't notice it running in the background.

The only exception to that is if you use graphics intensive apps or games. Then simply suspending it while you use the program and re-enable it when you're done.

I am kind of slow so you need to give just a tad more info......

Know virtually nothing about computers and don't have a clue how to answer those questions presented on the preference page......
