You might try the "regular" client before using the optimized version. Might help rule things IN or OUT.....

I'll try the regular client if this one does one or two units and at least one is red.

Right, I remember that I changed my vdimm to 2.7v from 2.9 just to run at the stock 200mhz a couple of days ago..i just tried super pi @ 2.7vdimm and it said 'not exact round' so obviously thats the problem. Now it's back at 2.9v it runs super pi and hopefully seti will behave.

Just when I have been getting up my own very minor head of steam, SETI refuses to either download or upload. Why does this keep happening periodically - and without any sort of technical info being posted? I currently have two results that are not going up and one new set of work not coming down. This is no big deal for such a minor participant but it is still very frustrating.

I have rebooted and that made no differemce. Earlier in the day there were some SETI file servers down but nothing down now for ages. What goes on?

Yes this can easily happen.
Each WU is sent out to 4 computers and credit granted when 3 return valid results.
If some the other 3 computers crunch slowly or have a large cache their results can be many hours (or even days) after your results, so your result would be "pending".

I have a P3-450 oc'd to 112FSB and it has weird credit that I think should be better.

Is it right that with the calibration the work gets 10 credit for 10k seconds of CPU time? also, is it right that some days I can get no credit and lots of pending?

Make sure you hae your trux CC actually calibrating. For starters, look for a file in your ~boinc directory called truxoft_prefs.xml. The contents should read:

<truXoft_conf>
<calibrate_credit>all</calibrate_credit>
</truXoft_conf>


PS: You can substitute "all" with "Seti@Home"

retsart your manager. Give it time then to calibrate...say, 30 Wu's.

but it tries to upload more than the size of the file (like it goes to 106%) lol, very strange.

Seeing that same thing also, which is normal. But it is NOT completing the transfer (or at least not getting the acknowledgement back), so it retires.

After almost three hours of trying, not one single upload on five systems with lots of pending uploads. Downloads have been VERY slow, much slower that in all prior recovery, but all machines have been able to slowly download most of their pending downloads.

So something is now broken with uploads.
I have stopped and restarted BOINC.
I have rebooted the system.
I have power cycled the router and system.
I etc. .... still does not upload.

My PC's show 'uploading' where they should show 'ready to report' even though they're not even trying to upload - when I press 'update' the client reports that there is no work to report when there are at least 5 units on each pc to send :S

Go look at the Transfer tab,and hit "Retry Communications" fromthe "COmmands" drop down menu item.

Same here, NO uploads in TWO hours into the recovery from any of my systems.

No normal "it takes time to recover" standard rubbish answers please!

On a normal recovery 90% of my pending uploads occur within the first twenty minutes. And that is when I miss the first five minutes that they are back up.

I just happen to be checking my systems when they came back up, and tried to upload in the first ten seconds they were back up. Got two downloads then, but NO UPLOADS. A lot of pending downloads popped up in the first two minutes.

So something is not right with uploading.
