Posted 29 Jun 2004 by ![]() Post: Thanks for the link. I wonder if they'll add it back to the page it was on? Pending: 3928.28 :) Too bad i'm running low on units and haven't seen more than one here and there. I'm patient though.... It'll all work out. ~Michael "They better be out there, I think we need their help" |

It's not like I'm even close to what some would be shorted but I did about 1000 in less than 2 months and was happy. To me it's about the science but I'd at least like to be given credit even if it's just for my own minor amusement and/or records. At this point I won't switch back. I'm here to stay!! BOINC or Bust!! ~Michael "They better be out there, I think we need their help" |

Posted 29 Jun 2004 by ![]() Post: Is it just me, the site, or a change? I was sure the link to pending credits was on our account page. http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah/home.php Or on the stats page http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah/show_user.php?userid= (insert user ID #) Was it removed? errr... what? Nice to see the site working a little now (albeit slow) |

Recent Average Credit, what's it for?
(Message 2248)
Posted 26 Jun 2004 by ![]() Post: > Yeah, the credits per day is certainly confusing. > > Mine right now is: > Total credit 49.51 > Recent average credit 4.38 Sure changed a lot for me in 24 hours. Total credit 346.45 Recent average credit 32.72 It's going to take quite a bit of time to get used to this. I'm liking it though... something different!! I just hope that BOINC is better for the science. Sure, I like to track my numbers it's amusing, but really when it comes down to it I want us to find life out there. |

Posted 25 Jun 2004 by ![]() Post: Yeah, the credits per day is certainly confusing. Mine right now is: Total credit 49.51 Recent average credit 4.38 Yet I see others like: Total credit: 42.60 Recent average credit: 215.48 Not sure how this could be. |

Intel P4 Hyperthreading
(Message 1661)
Posted 25 Jun 2004 by ![]() Post: My 2.8 P4-HT's do the same but they use 50% for each instance of S@H as they are working on 2 WU's at a time so overall 100% is used. My non-HT 2.4 P4 does them faster but only one at a time. I haven't really looked at the benchmarks |

Posted 24 Jun 2004 by ![]() Post: Just 3 P4 machines. (1) 2.4/512 and (2) 2.8HT w/512 so I suppose it's like 5 CPU's working but based on some other benchmarks I read I'm only average or less. You have 300 credits pending for only 9 WU's? Wow, this system is going to be hard to predict for sure. I don't think we need anything like Driver, Spy or Monitor, it seems to me that those features are already built in. Michael |

Posted 24 Jun 2004 by ![]() Post: OK, I read a few comment in other topics that it can take weeks sometimes for a credit to be given. However it still seeems like I'm the only one returning part 1 of 3 of my WU. Huh? |

Posted 24 Jun 2004 by ![]() Post: I was a S@H1 user a few years ago and now I just started again about 2 months ago. Managed to crank out just under 1000 in 2 months. Not bad I guess. Anyway... switched over to BOINC right away last night when I saw it went live. Now I think I understand that 2 other results need to be returned by others for any of us to get credit. I've returned about 45 results worth 450+ credits "pending". I think I've got that straight. Problem... when I look at the details of the work units it seems like I'm the only one listed to have returned one of the parts. How could this be? I have only found one WU where one of the others were also returned. If I'm just being impatient I guess I wait it out but is the current userbase so low or are they receiving units and not returning them? Someone give me confidence that I'll at least see some of these pending credits become real. I mean, is there a predicted loss of pending vs. total? 50%? Are we all seeing this? Sorry... lots of rambling. |
