It is a cyberpower trinity, so I have to do some deconstructing....ðŸ˜ž I m not sure that I understand what you are saying about throttling the cp u s down from 100% to 75%? Where can I do that? Is there somewhere a decent tutorial on the deeper options of the seti software, I tend to like getting in the weeds when I have spare time, but haven't found a documented source yet, is there one around? Also I am assuming that the computing options are individual per computer and not "groupwise" is that correct? I am using the local config files (I think). The more I read the more complexities i am seeing..... Thanx
22) Questions and Answers : GPU applications : How to use multiple GPU's (Message 1954537) Posted 9 Sep 2018 by Bravo6 Post: ok added a gtx 1050ti to one on my newer refurbs got it all recognized yada yada and the work units i had waiting dissappeared and i am back to only getting the work units the system can handle at one time. I understand (i thjink) that the system will start letting this machine download up to a hundred wu s after a while, but this machine had about a hundred wu s waiting to run. Did adding a card the a system already getting many work units downloaded put it status back and orphan the wu's already waiting? I am working thru adding multiple gpu's to several systems, and the new card here may be temporarily removed while building out. Am i going to have more problems like this? and am i causing problems for the larger system? ShouId i get the system i am adding to down to not having workunits actively downloaded and then add the gpu? don t want to mess up beacoup wu's while "messing around" I guess i m still ahving problems, i just noticed that after running a few wu's, the new gpu is now not seen by seti pgm...... sound familiar to anyone? lokks like lotsa fun coming up....... Just re-ran the cpu benchmarks and the new cpu showed up again......... will watch it..... looks like I ll need lots of notes!! thanx

For example the gtx 1050s, and 1050to with different men size, different DirectX , versions and the other little things different for production run to production run. I Am going to start with two Hewlett packard refurbs, one I3 and one I5 and use 1050s in one and 1050ti in the other. ( i have access to several of each). Just waiting on delivery from #$%&%$ china. Did not realize that was where stuff i ordered was going to come from. I like newegg , but ya gotta read the source print........ ðŸ˜’

27) Questions and Answers : GPU applications : How to use multiple GPU's (Message 1953494) Posted 3 Sep 2018 by Bravo6 Post: Well, I m starting to add gpus to my systems and have been researching it, and the consistent info is that various system "foibles" for lack of a better term, pop up at different times. It appears fairly iron clad that adding only one card at a time is best practice especially with the new riser extenders. Once running then another one. I have read about many different problems with different systems and it seems to point mainly to bios and OS having a hard time working together without repeated reboots . One story stated that one system would not take more than three to save his life and another system took 6 without blinking, sounds like bios to me..... I guess I will find out........ Has anyone heard anything about limits of two cards on one sata cable? (A la overheating the cable?)

More than that you have selected the SOG (Signals on GPU) part of the app. Both computers with the GPU's are refurbs, and I try to do the minimum to get BOINC running, and do not check what is present on the machine if is runs ok out of the "rescue box". Will have to check out the next one a lilttle more i guess..... thanx for ur help......
29) Questions and Answers : GPU applications : GPU NOT THERE/MISSING GTX 970 (Message 1952182) Posted 26 Aug 2018 by Bravo6 Post: You were running the "lunatics app" on this machine, however it appears that you no longer are. The stalled tasks were running under the SOG app from lunatics, which requires Open CL, this is not included with drivers from Microsoft, you must download drivers from the Nividia website and nowhere else. What seems to have happened is you have reverted to the stock application which uses the CUDA drivers which are included with Microsoft drivers. So the answer is to download and install drivers from the Nvidia website, then re-install the lunatics app. This should then allow the "GPU missing" tasks to start and also the new task you have will then be processed by the lunatics app which is faster . Your other machine with the 1050 2 gb is running the SOG app and completing tasks in around 15 minutes whereas this machine running the stock CUDA app takes 30 minutes Post here if you have any more questions O.K that did it, i had downloaded and installed the nvida drivers, but the glitch, update and reboot obviously did the change, thanx To increase my poor knowledge, i do not know to what you referto by he lunatics app? thanx again

However during the problem about 50 gpu work units were tagged : GPU missing, ready to start. Now newer work units for the gpu are running ok but not the gpu missing tagged ones. how can i get these to start? thanx

I would like to add one or two to the new computer, i already have 2 geforce 1050 s alread y chugging away on another computer (doing very well) but they are still in the $180+ range. I see that the 1030 s are going for about half that, are the 1030 s worth the effort in anyone,s opinion? or are they far slower than the 1050s to be worth it? thanx

Not a warning in fact, just a statement that it found the libraries for the type of installed card. If you don't have the type then it can't find the library for it can it? Just one mechanism for BOINC to figure out what type of cards are installed and then which apps to download for the project. Don't worry about the what all the files have in them. Just use BOINC. If it it isn't working, then post the first 30 lines of the Event Log in the forum when asking for help in troubleshooting. That always tells us what we need to know about what is happening. Exactly what is it looking for and where should it be... I thought the installs for the cards would put all necessary files in the necessary spots? (one computer found both NVIDA and AMD libraries, so i am assuming something went wrong on other installs)... thanx
