Post: If your wondering if you dont have enough power try this Calculator It works out your the wattage your computer will use but its only an estimate. But like the last poster said wattage isnt everything, looking at ampage through the rails. Hope this helps. |

Post: Yea SETI as i see it dont give out alot of information they have given out one newsletter this year, they also gave out one last year, it would be nice if we had one each month or something. The only thing i can find is this ( http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sci_status.html ) but 'Note: This page is still vastly under construction. More features are being developed.' Why should you carry on running SETI, you enjoy helping science, you want to help science and/or after pretty numbers :D |

OMG ... i remember that :D ... i have improved a little since then with 250 people favoriting one of my pictures as well as one being showed on the front page. As far as i know j4m3sb0nd no longer runs Seti but still does Space-art which still amazes me, he has succeded alot on Deviant art becoming a Senior Member. http://j4m3sb0nd.deviantart.com/, i will get in contact with him and get him to come and say a few things :) |

Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 EE QX6700...

Post: I have been looking at new CPU's and such on the interweb, and the QX6700 did indeed catch my attention but after searching for reviews and reading them i was alittle dissapointed at what they said. Because this is the first 'well known' quad core processor some programs dont recognise it mostly games and thus fail to run, im sure that someone around here could get SETI to run on it, but looking at it, it does seem like a rushed job, not supported by all apps, it is just 2 core duo's and it gives of 130Watts of heat. I would expect it two run twice as fast as a core duo. i personally going to wait a while for some upgraded versions. I rushed to quickly into hyperthreading and my pc is also usefull substitute for my radiator :D |
