Radeon Pro Vega (mobile dGPU on Dell) - GPU tasks can't run. Every 30 secs, keeps changing from 'Waiting to Run' to 'Postponed' continuously

Posted 5 Jan 2020 by Jason Roner Post: Thanks for replying, so is there anywhere this error is stored locally? Or is it only sent to the servers? I will need to dig really deep to see what is going on. May have to use the DDU GPU uninstaller utility to do a clean install of the AMD driver. I hate that I have to keep re-installing the Radeon driver with every Intel GPU driver update for some programs to work properly. Thanks again Running on device number: 0 Priority of worker thread raised successfully Priority of process adjusted successfully, below normal priority class used OpenCL platform detected: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. Posted 4 Jan 2020 by Jason Roner Post: Thank you for your response. In fact, I have re-installed them in that order because that's the only way Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve video editor would start. There's no way to turn off the iGPU in the BIOS (this is one of those hybrid iGPU and dGPU on same die kind of deals) |

Last time, it was able to process GPU units without issue. - What was updated on the system since that time? - Windows 10 feature update to 1909, and I believe 2 Intel HD 630 driver updates for integrated GPU (but because of screen lag, I don't use it to process work units). The driver for the discrete Radeon Vega has not been updated since last year (only place to get it is from the Dell driver support page). - Have you tried re-installing the GPU driver? - Yes, to both integrated and discrete - Have you tried enabling downloading work units for the Intel GPU? - I have not attempted it yet, should I try? |

Anyone ever play around with adding external GPU's to your laptop via the mini-PCIE?
(Message 1889782)
Posted 14 Sep 2017 by Jason Roner Post: Had some ideas and went searching eBay and found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MINI-PCI-E-TO-X16-PCIE-RISER-ADAPTER-GRAPHICS-CARD-PLUS-TO-LAPTOP-/263078482873?hash=item3d40b313b9:g:~h0AAOSwFqNZRWuT I have a Dell M4500 laptop that has two unused internal mini-PCIE slots. I could technically use them to hook up two external GPU's to crunch SETI with. Just wondering if anyone's tried this already and how did it result? My M4500's nvidia chip is a Quadro FX1800 and not so great since it is stuck using driver 342. |

I'm really bummed. Just found that my current machines + Android credits for the last few months were not going to my original 2003 account.
(Message 1889588)
Posted 13 Sep 2017 by Jason Roner Post: There will be no fix because it isn't broken. It was decided to prevent people from merging accounts because people were abusing the "feature" and inflating their numbers by stealing accounts. I think the issue must have been when I changed my e-mail address in my profile here from a yahoo address to a gmail one. However, attaching new projects with my new email wasn't working so I kept on using the old email address which would work (both times I used the original password key). I just assumed all my work would go to my old account anyway and never checked right away if that was the case. |

Posted 13 Sep 2017 by Jason Roner Post: Looking at your computer list the last active computer there was in April 2017. That's correct. I'm still crunching now but everything is going a "new" account now. I am posting this from my original 2003 account. |

Posted 8 Sep 2017 by Jason Roner Post: I've already read in a few places here that there is no way to merge my current machines and credits into my account. Will there be some kind of fix in the future for this? And how is it that a new account was created if I have been using my original account key ID every single time I've added the project to a freshly built or imaged machine? Even after changing my e-mail address, it should have known not to make a separate account. :( |
