Sorry Hal, I thought about that during the outage and remember that he has ATI...The person before comment about his NV and that got stuck in my head....'

I was hoping that it did work. As there does not seem to be as many tools for customizing non NV hardware. I am not sure if MSI Afterburner or Sapphire TriXX give fan remapping options.

MSIAfterburner is the shiznit....
I use that for my cards, works great...

I dont know what all options are in the motherboard bios, but my son's PC had been crashing in games and trying to crunch Seti on the GPU, doing just what yours did, I was going threw the bios on his and in the PWM settings, it is a DFi 790FX-M2R, there was a voltage for PCIe, a little searching I found it was way to low, cranked it up a tad and now runs flawless.

Like I said I dont know your bios, but maybe have a look around in the power settings, there could be something there....

Only using his GPU like I do with mine.
He has a AMD 940 quad core, with a AMD 6870 1GB of video ram.
I should be able to run 2 Seti's or AP on this card correct???
I think the most I have seen mine use was around 700-800 megs, right now I only have it set to do 1.

Or should I run out the que, then set it to do 2 and see how it compares????

Just a couple months away from 15 years....
Started with a Pentium 233, would do a WU, if I remember right, in just over 3 hours.
Now I imagine, it would take days, if not a week...LOL

oh my, how times have changed.....

Hopefully that works, anywase, I get home from work and Seti is only using maybe 37% of my vid card, wuning 2 wu's at a time I thought this was a little odd,
So I check and there using the CPU, a lot, so I check my returned WU's, and well, see for yourself...

(hopefully this link works, or I am gonna look silly....)

Also there are PCIe splitters which can be used.

I wonder what kind of performance hit there would be...

Why are AP's so hit and miss????...

... there are a number of people who target them as they pay better.

The people who have built mini supercomputers prefer AP WU; some can crunch 350 or more a day. Then there are the hoards who can build a 1000 AP WU caché.

How in the h*ll does a machine get 1k AP's??!!???!??!!?

Check for a file called MultiBeam_OpenCL_ReadMe.txt in your projects folder.

I added a section called Best Tips.

Most important switch on MB is the -sbs switch.
It increases the single buffer size.
