It isn't? Damn, I joined the wrong project again.....

I am receiving credit roughly every 15 minutes, although some slower PC's (200mhz-500mhz) are getting credit at a rate of every two days.

Why bother? You don't get credits faster - you still have to wait the initial two weeks for your WU's to age, and once credit for them start coming in, subsequent credit is granted at the same pace as all other credits - all you've done is to impose a two week limit for nothing. Congratulations, you've actually slowed your own credits.

Nevermind, I think I found the problem - BOINCview and or RPC does not like my wireless connection on my laptop. When I direct connected, it seems to work fine.

Any BOINCview users having this prob: BOINCview can see clients just fine, but when I try updating a remote client, I get a 'the command was not sent or accepted' error message. BOINCview is on my laptop, WinXP SP2, behind Zonealarm 5.1 (free). BOINCview has server authorization in ZA. Clients are all 4.09, running on various platforms (Win98-XP). Same prob for all clients.

Any ideas?

It seems that my account page is no longer counting forums posts. I have posted three comments this morning (4, including this one), but my count hasn't changed. Not a big deal at all, don't really care if my forum activity is tracked at all, but I felt I should mention it so that it can be corrected when convenient. :)

Paul,

Just reset the project and it will try again. Right click on the project name in BOINC and choose reset. BOINC automatically downloads all the files you need.

Has anyone noticed this problem: I have two seperate preferences setup for my clients - home and work. Work is the default preference, and it also matches my primary preferences. I only have two PC's at 'home', and both are set to use the 'home' preference on their individual pages. However, when I update the clients (so preferences take effect), they suddenly start using my default general preferences. I am running 4.05. Any ideas?

After reading this thread, this seems a more puzzling problem than I thought. I have BOINC 4.05 running on three Win98 PC's and two Win95 PC's since Sunday - and not one has page faulted, blue-screened, locked, or slowed down any more than you would expect these old PC's to normally be.

Why are my five systems immune from this bug? All are crunching and producing results, none have been rebooted since Sunday. Perhaps 4.05 is conflicting with some other system component that isn't present on my PC's.

ROFL!

Now we know why there has been a WU shortage - Kirsten's team member has them all! Tell your team member to give them back for a full refund please!

Actually, if your team member re-installed BOINC or made other system changes (such as renaming the PC), that would cause BOINC to ignore the old WU's and just refill the cache. I have noticed that BOINC downloads enough work to fill your cache based on CPU benchmarks and actually usage times. Tell your team member to let the PC run and see how many WU's he/she can finish before they expire.

As for any unfinished WU's, there really isn't anything to do about them - Seti won't reissue them until after the deadline has passed.
