发表于:17 Feb 2006 作者: Wordsmith Post: A quick update: I did manage to uninstall and reinstall the program but there was no change. The timeouts do take much longer with the newer version, by the way. Then I tried installing on another computer on our home network to see if it was just something with my machine. On the second computer I can't get it to attach to the project or the account manager, even with a new account. So it does seem like it might be something along the connection route. This morning my husband is planning to check for the firmware upgrade for the router (great minds think alike!) and we'll power it down. I'll also show him this thread for all the other suggestions. Then specifically watch to see if you're prompted. No, I wasn't prompted by the firewall when I upgraded, I believe because the boinc programs are specifically allowed in the list of exceptions. I really don't think it's the firewall because even if I completely disable the firewall it doesn't make a difference. Try first to abort the three wus in the work tab (button 'abort') and then try to reconnect to the servers manually by hitting 'update'-button in the projects-tab. I tried aborting the work units but they would not go away, so I hit the reset project button and that got rid of them. Still can't get a response from the schedulers, though. I guess next I will try uninstalling the program and reinstalling it. <sigh> I am about to give up. The recurring issues with boinc are wearing me down. Sherry |
