I like the auto-delete idea also :)

Frees up disk space and prevents other things :)

And these forums take up how many GB of TB? ; )

I'd wager all the fora fit in a pretty small amount of disk space, comparatively.

(an answer from Eric or Matt would be appreciated...)

Here's an idea...

If you are going to have 'AutoMods'... there should be a term limit...

I think a term of 3 - 6 months would eliminate most of what we are now having to deal with.

Ahh, there it is. Excessive moderation is precisely that. Just like it is in the mainstream media. An artificial reality rather than allow the conveyance of the actual one.

Sorta like how Cheney's office is claiming that they are not actually part of the 'Executive Branch' and therefore do not have to comply with the Constitution or any other law regarding the 'Executive Branch'...

Yeah... can I get some of what these guys are smokin'...

@ Beets...

I offered you a branch and you proceeded to kick it in the dirt... every one here sees that...

If you want a peace, it's on you...

( oh... and while it might stroke your ego somewhat to refer to me as a troll, participants that have been around since the classic days know you're fudging it...)

You were being "sincere", but not about burying the hatchet. I'll let the people decide who was being sincere and who wasn't.

Good Night.

The Fours is strong within me tonight.

And Ann Coulter is having a good run too!

Nite, Nite... Blondie...

(hey... I tried... and you see what the result was...)

Just as I thought, Trollster. ;)

I called your bluff. You lose.

I was being sincere... too bad you weren't...

@ Beets...

I can and will forgive your earlier comments...

The only current problem I have with you Sir, is your continuing swipage of others content...

If it weren't for that I might actually be able to have a constructive talk with you...

(trying to find something to regard...)

Chip

I can not reveal what moderators have done in a given case, but I think I did answer your (general) questions. All moderators can see the message to the modlist, and all moderators discuss it. The moderator being complained about can give input (their side), but he/she is not the last word.

With all due respect, Qui-Gon...

That apparently is not always the case... in a recent request to the mod distro to have a moderation reconsidered... I was informed that the question would be put to a vote...

My request was denied, (that's the way it goes sometimes, no big deal) but I was informed that only 5 out of 20+ mods voted...

And yes, that IS a long way from Ireland, which makes me think: Maybe the thief sold it on eBay and shipped it? It's a possible lead. Maybe the police could contact eBay and see if anyone recently sold a laptop from a seller in Ireland to a purchaser in Minneapolis-St.Paul's?

The OP has not said they are from Ireland... WADR...
