发表于:20 Nov 2004 作者: Petit Soleil Post: > > > What do you think ? > > I think you're talking through your hat. Well thanks Carl for your comment but I know what the sound barrier is and I am not talking through my hat... There is a reason why Mach 1 is called the critical speed, and why it has been so difficult to break. Now, I am not insisting that the F14 on the video crashed because of this, but there is a difference between breaking the sound barrier (passing from subsonic to supersonic speed) then flying AT sonic speed. "typically the shock front may approach 100,000,000 watts per square meter, and may exceed 200 decibels." It's the enourmous shockwave that occured at sonic speed that made supersonic flight difficult, not the supersonic flight itself. Todays supersonic planes are build to "survive" the shock wave of Mach 1 when going from subsonic to supersonic speed, but are they build to "survive" the constant shock waves of SONIC speed ? When I say that flying at SONIC (critical) speed is not recommended I am not inventing this. I have read somewhere on a flight books or something long ago. Now read this and you will see that I am not TALKING THROUGH MY HAT. God I hate being told that!!! @Rookie As for Chuck Yeager I know his story very well. Maybe even more then you do. Salut |

And we all remember that in the second > world war they did something similar in Pearl Harbour, so maybe it´s not that > bizarre this suposition. I think a normal mind can´t understand this > arguments. But I also think the ones who rules US doesn´t have a normal > mind... I don't know, it sound too big for our little mind. One thing that is sure though, is that they did take great advantage out if it. What I am saying is that a Country like America wich economy is largely based on deffences, needs an enemy. Since the end of the cold war there was no more enemy, and it has been more like a bad news for the war industries then a good news for the people. Now America has an enemy they call "terror" and big brother did helped a lot to create it. For more then a year you could not watch TV without hearing Terrorist, Evil country, Weapons of mass destruction, Sadam Hussein, etc. Anybody with an IQ of at least 85 can understand that you can't fight "terror" with weapons, but big brother is wise, and he managed to brain wash the people who were stock on their TV desperately waiting for a new "terror" news. The military industry is now god damn happy, The Eagle fly again and americans can now show their real patriotism. That's all it takes for a super power to remain a super power, an enemy, weaker of course. ***As for your allegation about the government didn´t do anything to stop it*** while knowing about it, why not. When you look at the 9/11 report and see all the mistake that has been made...The army even said that their structure was based on the cold war, that they were not ready for that kind of attack it sound just too much ridiculous. 500 billion dollars per year in deffence and not being able to locate a few "lost" commercial aircraft ??? Let's go Canada !!! with our little 120 and so CF-18 we could have total air superiority over US, because we are not Russian...give me a break. I would say that since almost all of the highjackers where Saudis, and since Bush familly, Halliburton and others go along very well with the Laden... Just imagine. You attack the WTC, we blame it on Bin, we pretend to chase him but we don't, we scare our fellow citizen to hell with WMD and pretend Sadam Hussein is ready to destroy us, we invad Irak, make the military business run, take huge rebuilding contract in the process, and finally organise "democratic" election in Irak in order to have a good friend over there and control the oil flow. Of course we won't say it. We will pretend we are doing it to liberate Irakis from a dictator, and everybody will buy it. Of course liberating a country involves killing hundreds of thousands of them, but we're at war for Christ sake !!! hahah...HaHaHaHaHaHa.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..........(demoniac laughing) God bless America. |

发表于:20 Nov 2004 作者: Petit Soleil Post: > >The F14 is a mach 2+ aircraft, breaking the sound barrier is normal for > it. The explosion was caused by something else. Engine failure, perhaps. I know that breaking the sound barrier is normal for a supersonic fighter jet. What I am saying is when you fly these things, you fly either under or obove the sound speed. You try to avoid flying at precisely the speed of sound for too long. 1 Knot under OK, 1 or 150 knots above OK, but flying at exactly Mach 1 for an extended period is a very bad thing to do, whether it is a F14, a MIG or a Rafale fighter jets. I am not an aeronautic engineer, but I have read that before, I am just assuming here, But it sound logic to me. When the plane break the sound barrier, all the sound that would normaly be ahead of the plane is concentrate in parallel with the plane, it supersonic "boom" we can hear when it happen. If we hear just one boom, and not a constant one, it's because the plane went faster then the speed of sound. If the plane stay precisely at the speed of sound the "boom" would be permanant. That's a lot of energy, I am sure they are made for breaking the sound speed (having a boom for a short period) but I am not sure that they are made to fly with a permanant boom pressure on them. Now, I am sure you know all this, I am not trying to be mister I know everything here, I am more raising questions then making affirmations. What do you think ? |

Space probes feel cosmic tug of bizarre forces
(消息 48122)
发表于:20 Nov 2004 作者: Petit Soleil Post: > Maybe this is a very simplistic idea, but since the orignial probes are too > far away to communicate with us directly, why not send up space craft that > will act as repeaters? Or, add a repeater system to a craft that would be in > an area to be of assistance. > > I realize that the new craft won't get into place immediately, but it could > still extend the life of the missions. The problem is the probes are fading away. They are getting out of electrical power. The radio signals are getting weaker not only because of the distance but also because of power. There is nothing "we" can do about it. If we really want to know how they are doind and where they are heading we could send another probe (it would have to be pretty fast though) to keep an eye on them (radar) and and report it back to earth. I think it is too late anyway, the probes will soon be dead body heading god knows where, untill they crash with or on something, in many many million years from now... |

Maybe he just stayed at the barrier speed for too long ? Breaking the sound barrier is one hard thing for an aircraft, but staying at that sppeed...Hum it must be very hard on the plane body. |
