Controling CUDA in preferences

Posted 4 Feb 2009 by ![]() Post: It's been running 95c for a long time anytime I do anything intense. I was worried about it at first but doesn't seem to be a problem. I checked and there are a few others whose cards run that high. I notice a post last night where someone got their temps down by loading the new drivers and this morning after running cuda all night my temps were 89c. That's a 6c drop. I'm also going to try RivaTune and I've had the case open and a fan blowing directly into it ever since the summer when I got higher temps. maby it will hold up for 3 years, but it wont hold up for ten, let alone 20. its FLOPS will still be usefull for years and years, even if it might be not so cost effective, it will still give you points. :) also, as temp goes up the chance of the gpu making calculation errors increses, as i can see above your having problems with. :) |
