21) Questions and Answers : Web site : Incorrect date in userw data (Message 1186134)

Hello,

The problem I had is that the date formatting in this URL is incorrect:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/userw.php?id=3339763

It says it is in UTC, but I think it is set in your local time! I need to add 8 hours to get the right time

Now I know that I am probably the only one really using this variable in our "zero day stats system" (original thread) I use it to prevent an unnecessary query within 2 hours (which I estimated to be the caching interval at your end). I also use it to inform our stats visitors as to how current the information is.

This started a few months ago. But since the structure of the update date (and updates of the update;) ) is all relative to several variables I hadn't found the cause.

It is not extremely important, but I thought it would be nive if you guys put in the right timestamp.. (please mention it, then I can remove the3 correction in my software)

Oh boy...............!

Indeed! Good luck in many ways. Not in the last place to get to the first place of teams worldwide! The position changes are more then impressive!

And that for a team of less then 100 members that would be in the top 5 producing countries if you guys lived in the Country "GPU" ;)

OK,,,,$350 for the GPU team.
But, Aren't we past midnight the 31st ???

Respect for the bid since your production is far beyond that of our entire country (*)

*) so there wouldn't be any chance of staying ahead of you guys anyway ;) (and I did calculate for the possibilities for our team to stay third.. I did, I really did ;) ).

I've got mine, but I must say "Vipertje" really does deserve his also, not only for initiating the request, but also for being a regular donor of S@NL, thus enabling S@NL for the initial donation (as I stated in the initial request..)

PS: my sincerest apologies for my late response, but I am beyond extremely busy with work at the moment..

Our treasurer ("Mr Swart", forum name Blackbiker) got a "WOW signal" that we would like to share with all the donors :D

Dear Mr. Swart,

We received a very generous donation from your SETI@Netherlands foundation.

$2,765 WOW!
We are jumping up and down here.
Everyone is elated and grateful.
Thanks a zillion!

If it's OK with you, we propose to use your funds to process the new SETI@home data we are collecting this month at the Green Bank telescope in West Virginia,
searching for signals from the exo-planets recently discovered by the Kepler mission.
The Arecibo telescope can't reach the Kepler field (the Kepler stars are too far north), but the 100 meter diameter GBT can.
The GBT is the world's largest fully steerable telescope and they've awarded us observing time to search these new planets in the habitable zone.

Thanks for your wonderfully generous donation!
We'll try to spend your funds wisely.

Our work is enhanced by the enthusiasm of thoughtful, adventurous, and spectacularly generous people like you.

Thank you Thank you Thank you!

Best Wishes,

Dan and the SETI@home team

As you can see/read (every) donation is appreciated! Keep the funds flowing & the computers crunching ;)

I'll wait for for the official words of our treasurer, but I am guessing the latest figure is our final figure:

preliminary final count: aprox. $ 2,538 (€ 1,835)

I would like to extend my thanks on behalf of S@NL and the S@H team of Berkeley to all donors, in special to those that are not a member of S@NL.

Uli will be getting our "sponsor list" so that we can enjoy our little green star here also and warble with the good deed we've done ;)

[update]
I just red that he'll be making the donation in about 6 hours and that all that's getting in until that time will also be donated. So our treasurer smuggled in half a day, but I think we'll all forgive him for that ;)
[/update]

Fred, super, thanx!

As Fred, and a few others, have shown, you do not need to be a member of S@NL to donate, it is open for everyone, so:

Just as a reminder: to all for whom it is cheaper to donate to a Dutch bank-account: donate to 44.74.635 SETI AT Netherlands in Apeldoorn and we'll get your donation to Berkeley!

When you mention your SETI-ID (the number) we will get you your green star also (with the help of Uli: thanx again)

Todd & Pappa, thanx for the kind words, they're appreciated :)

Todd, when I read the Super Bowl Donation Drive you're involved in, "you" are doing great also! This is going to be a good "donation month" for S@H!

I also must say that the link I found in your thread is also very interesting reading material ;)

It's nice to actually see the amount S@NL donated last time, (must have been September 30 2009)

PS: Hey BB, "they" subtracted $ 15 for the transfer fee? ((2000-15)+10)/2 = 997.50
