(Message 116415)
Posted 30 May 2005 by Perfessor Post: I just downloaded and installed ver 4.43. My question is this. How do I get the Statistics page to show statistics? Except for an occasional flash of someting, there is nothing on that tab. I'm running XP pro with an Athlon 2000+. Perfessor |

Posted 8 Mar 2005 by Perfessor Post: What OS are you running? If your running WinXP, shut off the firewall within it. If you are using a US Robotics router, you will need to put that PC in the DMZ to up/doanload WU's. Just remember to disable the DMZ after your up/doanloads. I learned this thru personal experience. Posted 4 Dec 2004 by Perfessor Post: Ken, I have a US Robotics 8054 Wireless router. When I tried using the DMZ, as I said, Boinc went thru with no problem. BUT I am not leaving any of my machines in there for any length of time. Just long enough to up/download WU's from each machine the I disable the DMZ again. Untill I find a fix for this, I'll keep doing it that way. Easier than moving cables from my PC's to my modem, ya know? Thanks for the help. Perfessor |

Posted 3 Dec 2004 by Perfessor Post: Madprig, Tried your suggestion about using the DMZ and it worked. When I placed a machine there the WU's go through. So it seems to be a firewall issue on my router. HP, I used an old router of mine that I used before my wireless, but had the same problem WU's would not go through. Now I just need to figure out how to set up my firewall to allow WU's through. Any suggestions guys and gals????? All, Thanks for the help Perfessor |

Posted 2 Dec 2004 by Perfessor Post: Ken, I can ping 128.32.18.152 (98ms speed) with no problem. I added the 2 IP's to my routers firewall rule. Right now I'm waiting to see if the WU I told to upload actually went through.... Nope, got the "temp failed" msg. Allow 300 Boinc Servers WAN,128.32.18.152-128.32.18.154 (source) WAN,128.32.18.152-128.32.18.154 (destination) TCP,80 Above is what I entered into my routers firewall rule. As far as I can tell, it's correct. I went to a website (shield's up) that tests your ports and my port 80 comes up showing it's in "stealth" mode. I dont know if that makes a difference or not as the only 2 websites that will not work properly are Boinc and Windows Update (and I'm not that worried about the Update site). Does any of this help you figure out my problem? If you need more details, let me know. And thanks for the help you've already given. Perfessor |

Posted 2 Dec 2004 by Perfessor Post: Thinking on this, I know that the problem lies in my router. When I connect directly to my modem, I have no problem up/downloading WU's. Maybe if I add Boinc's IP address specifically to my router? Anyone know Boinc's server IP address? Note: firewall list is currently "disabled". Perfessor |

Posted 16 Nov 2004 by Perfessor Post: Timmy, I tried the bit with mundayweb, even using the ID they gave me, but it kept coming up as "user id not found". Also, I find that user ID and Account ID are actually different numbers. Either way, it comes up as :user ID not found". Boinc_User, Thanks for the assist. As you can see, I'm using one of those now. I was actually trying for one of the larger sigs with all the info but I can't seem to get them to work. I'll keep trying though, LOL. Again, my thanks to all for the help. Perfessor |
