So don't keep us in suspense! What is going to be the graceful solution to this?

Not sure what you mean by database. Our database is just fine. Faster database won't help the current problem.

Why not store these tiny files in a database rather than seperate files?

How many machines are you people with 1,000,000+ running on? Or was it a bunch of credit from seti clasic? I lost my 500 units in seti classic because I no longer have the domain name I owned when I setup the account. Not that it matters much since my overclocked X2 with optimized client can do 1500WUs each month.

Eric

Hi!

Well, I suppose i'll first mention my milestone of;

4,300,000 cobblywossnames.

No credit was carried over from classic. I (amongst others) was here right from the word go and have some 70 PC's crunching under my control. Its all numbers really.

Have a look at my computer list to see what I have crunching.

Oh does it really matter if you don't get a bit of credit for a few days. Seti is still crunching, work units are being sent out, completed units sent back...

When the validators come back on they'll be a nice big delivery of credit so whats the big problem?

Chill ;-)

Well, take a look here...

You may be right but it looks damned weird.

I've been noticing that my total RAC has been dropping consistantly over the past month or so which is puzzling as i've actually been adding more crunchers.

So, i added up all my PC's RAC and the total is something like 14,500 as apposed to the 6,300 actually listed. How so?

I looked at Barry & Max's seti farm and their total RAC is roughly the same as the sum of their PC's individial RAC?

Even just adding up the RAC from my top 12 crunchers equals what i'm getting as total RAC! and there are another 60 odd machines behind them!

If someone connected with the seti project could assist, it'd be very handy

cheers

We have good contributers from Holland, the US, and even Germany so no xenophopia here.... cept if your from Mars and planning to exterminate us as some point in the near future... duh da dur.. du da da du da ud...etc.. u get the idea, i get my coat.......

It seems to be work unit related as i've got plenty of machines working fine, and several that have reported the upload error. I guess it'll sort itself out over time. Just need to chill a bit ;-)

Yeah, came from nowhere... simple answer?... its a number of 'merged' computers. I was keeping an eye on Armin Burkhardt cuz he was ahead of me. He had a number of identical machines which suddenly dissapeared to be replaced by that monster. So, essentially, its a cheat.

In terms of multiprocessor chips, the Opteron cant be beaten. It scales perfectly as you add processors where as the Xeon doesnt.

With luck, when seti classic closes, you'll be so upset you'll kill yourself.

That credit is coming from work units that Rom may have completed well over a week ago. Do us all a favour, engage brain and do some reserch (how credit is awarded has been covered countless times on these forums) before posting.

Arg! You'd think by now people would understand how credit works. 5439.51 WU's a day - blimey that'd be impresive and i wish. I've 67 machines 80% of which have no work at all. So before posting, go away and read up on how boinc operates http://boinc.berkeley.edu has plenty of info on the workings of Boinc.
