@Amanada Finnegan

The error on resultid=331735246 says your disc drive is full.

If this is not the case then go to 'Your Account', click on view or edit General Preferences, click edit preferences (you may need to scroll down) and then edit disk preferences to suit your computer/disk drive.

If you need more help, Post new thread on number crunching board and you will be offered plenty of help.

Andy

you were right! i am a dummy, my 1st wu to complete for ages has just been reported, ta to all for the help

Leave at least 0.1 GB disk space free(Values smaller than 0.001 are ignored)
Use no more than 50% of total disk space
Write to disk at most every 60 seconds
Use no more than 75% of total virtual memory
these are my settings and i have a 19 GB drive.

just checked in the disk section in boinc and it says 'seti@home 2.58 MB'

Make sure that you are using the current boinc manager 5.4.9, and that you are using the STOCK install. That is, not using an optimized client. We see many posts from people that forget to kill the app_info.xml file linking to thier optimized client. This can both cause errors, as well as keep a client from downloading new work. So far within the past week we have moved from ver. 5.12 - 5.15 of the core client. expect to recieve 5.16 within the next few days or so.

whats STOCK install?? i am using 5.4.9, do you mean delete when you say kill? a lot of us just wanted to use a simple program (seti classic) to run by itself in the background, i have no idea what half these posts are talking about, so i can't sort this computation error out. everytime it happens i send it back as a result. sorry for being thick before anyone starts.

Is there anyone out there working on an add-on that will reproduce the classic seti@home screensaver? As an artist, I am not impressed with the new screensaver, the graphics are just not as clear and bright as the old version and you aren't as mesmerised by it either (get a life I hear you say!). I know a lot of boffins will say the graphics are not important, but I am a non-boffin, and would like to watch the progress of a work unit(even if I don't fully understand what I see!). I've just upgraded from a 200MHz chip to a 1.58GHz one and watching it wizz through WUs is fasinating. I don't really see the problem with the older graphics. Is there no way of incorporating the old graphics? Thankyou.

Cink on this link, follow instructions,
Back to Classic Screen saver http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=Screen_Saver_%26_Graphics_Display_-_SETI%40Home_Classic_(Emulation)this is the closes way i have found to get close to Classic Screen Saver. Good Luck.

ta for that,forgot to mention i had already had a go with the configuration thingy and no matter how many different ways you can make the new screensaver look,it aint a patch on the simple original one.ill just do the crunching and stuff the screensaver,just hope i can get this new setispy to work and hopefully find a new seti monitor.lot of messing around all this.
