So you have 2 CPU cores, which are 2 individual compute cores.

should'nt 2 cores run 4 tasks?

i don't understand this.

everything was fine and understandable bevore boinc involved the graphikcards...

i stop crunching with the new pc, the electric energie is to expensive for just 2 (or 3) tasks...

thx 4 helping!

Thank you 4 trying to help!

win 10 made some updates by itself.
i changed the seti settings and the boincmanager shows 2 cpu (as before) and new 2 gpu Tasks.
that don't solve the Problem. i still miss 10 active cpu Tasks.

if someone likes to help maybe it's easyer to write in german per email.
my adress is info@altes-beckhaus.com

if my tasks are running fine, i will post the way to fix it here in english.

it's the first time i use win 10...

dl and installed the win client 64 bit,
logged in 3 Projects (seti, asteroids and progs)
and now in the boincmanager are just two running Tasks.
my Prozessor is AMD A6-7400K Radeon R5, 6 Compute Cores 2C+4G 3.50 GHz

i think the pc could run 6 or 12 tasks at the same time.

what i do have to change in the windows settings? (win 10 enterprise, vers. 1511)

boinc and the projects settings should be fine, on my other pc (win8.1) it runs multiple tasks at the same time.

The most is running well i think.
There is no work for all projects at the same time at my BOINC Manager,
but the projects are revolving from time to time. So they all are getting work.

Just BURP gave me the following message:
07.01.2006 18:42:20|BURP|Sending scheduler request to http://burp.boinc.dk/burp_cgi/cgi
07.01.2006 18:42:20|BURP|Reason: Requested by user

What does "to fetch work" mean? BURP has the same attitudes as 8 other running projects!

I set the days to 0.25 (with a point, not a komma)
and the ressources to
- SETI1 = 20
- all 9 others = 10

since now i got work fom :
Seti1, Seti Test, Einstein, PrimeGrid, µFluids and SIMAP

I'm waiting for work from SZTAKI and BURP (LHC and Orbit are out of work/ no Win Client jet.)

Okay, i know that it needs time to get a clear revolving of the 10 projects.
they have to equal (by 1 connecting-day) their ressources and the WU-deadlines andthe actual rescent credit...
Do You mean i've to set up the ressources to Seti 18,18 (instead of 100) and the others to 9,09 (instead of 50)?
Or shall i do noting else, still waiting?

Actuell is that the Projects having work are revolving their action now, but no project is answering for new work.

My thoughts was right the opposite (more is better...),
and so the old attitude was set on "10"!

Now i set the "Connect-days" to "1"
(less would be "0" and no server-contact?!)
and wait what happend.
I'll make a "Setup" to all P's (first at Seti, there i made the attitude-changing)

Thanx Grant for the fast answer!
(Please give me a lil repost if you meant to set the connect-days to "0")

I use with my BOINC (5.2.5) many projects. The number is sometimes changing, momently there are 10 Projects running.
(Orbit is deactivated since they have a Windows Client.)
SETI is running an optimized client.

In my ressources i gave Seti 100%
all other P's 50%

Seti is working fine, but the others...
i don't understand when and why (..if) they get work.

Most projects are working since i have a rescent credit round 30 Cs. When BOINC revolve to another.
But some other P's did'nt ask for work all the time.
Why?
What have i to change in my attitudes?
I think the Problem is the deadline of the WUs.
Some of them are really long (µFluids, Seti Test) are really big/long...???

Einstein with work enough gave me after a new "Update" the following Info:
29.12.2005 09:45:27|Einstein@Home|Message from server: (won't finish in time) Computer on 98.5% of time, BOINC on 99.7% of that, this project gets 9.1% of that

Have i to change these attitudes?
Whats the best attitude for me?

Thanx for Help!

Best wishes for 2006 to everybody!

maybe because so many Seti-Classic user changed to Seti 1 in this days (at the last possible Point...) the Berkeley server are mutch more used as in the normal way.
Allso the have problems making a server backup, and some new server troubles are happend - nobody knows what and how to fix at the moment.
Maybe there are other troubles allso.

Things like that You allways can read in the Technical News:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/tech_news.php

It seems like Your machine is Okay and the attidudes are well done!

If You have questions by handling BOINC feel free to visit:

The "Crunching Family" is a european Info- and Helpteam (...for the german speaking area, but You can ask -Forum: HILFE- allso in english!) about the distributed computing (BOINC)
I think (...just me!) the longest date the SETI-server will having problems is the early January, it's mutch earlyer i hope!!!)!
Use an other project for a while, if You are'nt patient with SETI.

... thank You Matt to give us all this internal informations!

For me Seti Classic is a kind of "private tradition".
But times change and if it's time to let it go, i'll do.

I allso like BOINC, it's going to become a new "private tradition".
In BOINC is more inside, there are more possibilities, allso for me!

But Matt, many people are very closed (in feelings) to SETI@home! Not only since today!!!
So i mean it is very sad to read things like Your's at this Point - the first time!
It would be a great thing if we, the user could experience internas about SETI@home and BOINC some more often!
Not all, not every day, no "date-terminus"!!! But sometimes!
It's to different worlds and they belongs together!
We the user lives mostly with rumors, or the User have lots of work
(by klicking links, surfing many Websides, study and translate other medias or maybe to write many emails!) to do to get some intern facts. Mostly our "practic facts" in the dayly life are things like "crunching" server or other problems.
It's okay to have open FAQs or a really living Forum and the technical news, but for all it's not enough! I miss the personal, the private part/kind/step, the "big"- or better the intern connections!

Do You know what i mean?

However, the SETI@home and BOINC - Team is doing a very great job!
Go ahead!

Thank You!

Hi "Celtic Wolf" and the "others"!

My english is'nt the best, sorry!

I really don't know what to do. This can't be only a Berkeley-problem. In former times there was'nt a big mysterious buglike this at their "serving".
Have i to change some of my system - attitudes?

In Setis Technical News is posted that they are working on their servers...
It is a big bit unfortunately to do this a few days before the final end of Classic.
The merging Seti1/Classic brings some troubles in Berkeley... that's normal, Okay!
(yesterday they wrote the downloads are running again, just the Uploads are still droping... i can't see this in practice. Both are'nt working since a few days)

How ever, there are problems i don't understand.

What specially is the error 500 + system I/O? (All i know is that it has something to do with MTU sizes...)
Please post an easy to understand (...to translate) information about the error 500 + sys I/O.

...just to answer a few questions and to post the involved parts fom the BM-Log here?

That can't be all... what to do to fix?

------------------------------------

1. The type of connection:
ADSL

2. Kind of equipment:
ADSL Modem "SpeedTouch 510i" from Thomson.

3. other applications:
I think no, maybe the Namo Webeditor?

4. connected directly:
Yes, the ADSL modem goes to the ADSL-splitter and this is "hanging" on the phonecable (ISDN).

5. Are you willing to share a network trace with one of us?
Shure, but what is it and how to do?

Some Spezials:
- The error 500 is allso found at the downloading files from SetiTest (new client 4.11).
- I use an optimized Seti1 client.
- My PC has a Pent.4 (2600) CPU, running Windows XP Home Edition (complete new installed) with a additionally installation of microsofts Service Pack 2.

By installing my webconnection ADSL i used the DFÜ-Optimizer,
the actuell
MaxMTU-number (size of the data-pakages) is: 1492
RWIN-number (maximum "dataset") is: 32767
TCP/WS-number (Window-Size-worth) is the same: 32767
TTL-number (Time-to-Live worth) is: 64
MSS - number (Maximum Segment Size) is: 1452
HTTP+Max Connection (how mutch connections): HTTP 1.0 + 20 connections.
This attitudes are working very fine since the "Berkeley Serverproblems" ("crunching", dropping connections)

In my BM are some waiting up- and downloads. Some Seti1 WUs/Results and a reset of the SetiTest. (maybe some downloads worked?)
I close the BM and open it again, this is from the log:

It's a long time gone since i posted this...
And no News! The same thing is happend.
I tested so many things, deinstalled programms and tools aand hoped for help by using the new Boinc versions...
Just Seti gives me at every "new Project" try the "Master file fetch failed" Message/Error. All other Programs run fine...
Climate say (and do) sometimes the same if i make a "Project-Reset". But by using "new Project" after a few days evything is quite well!

Is there someone out there able to help?

Thanx

What You have done to fix this Problem?
Since a few weeks my Boinc say (did)the same "Master file fetch failed" if i try to log in to the Seti-Project. In former times Seti runs without any problems. Climate is working well.
I've tried lots of things (i've deinstalled Boinc, installed in C:\Boinc . . . ) but allways is the same happend. With or without Firewall (Kerio)
Is there anybody out there having an idea???
Please help!

Hi Thierry Van Driessche,

it was a good idea.
Sorry, but only this...

I tried on the XP machine, but there is no different as bevore.
Allways this master file fetch failed and the detach from project.

Boinc can't see the download URL and nothing from my prefs. So it did'nt load the Seti-Client, the WUs and my Stats.
Maybe its no firewall problem (...or another)

Thanks for Your try to help.

If You know something else please post it, i'll be happy to try!

regards

Miko
