I have not been able to login to this map. Please help me.

First, download and install the Google Earth program from their website, http://earth.google.com/ (Click on downloads to get it.)

Then, go to the Google Earth forum post for this file, which is at http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showthreaded.php/Cat/0/Number/863082/ and click on "View in Google Earth" to download and view the file in Google Earth. (You can also click "View in Google Maps" to view it in a different format, without installing Google Earth first, but this format seems to have bugs in it, and Google Earth works and looks better.)

Hope this helps.

Microsoft has too much of a stranglehold on the OS market (at least among layman home-computer users) to go anywhere. Their applications division has been slowing somewhat, due to competition from the likes of, say, Open Office (which I use), but that has only seen them shift over to games. Unless something seriously dramatic happens, they'll stay where they are in the OS market.

That said, I hope at some point they put out a more pared-down version of Windows. Less code should be the objective, not more. If I were in charge for a day, there'd be a version of Vista that was stripped of every advanced feature and application except for a GUI, networking, drivers, and a web browser (only because you really need one in this day and age) and let users choose which other software to install for which purpose, whether it was from Microsoft or not.

I don't think it'll catch on as much more than a computer science theory project. It defeats the purpose of having decent hardware on your own machine and limits you to your bandwidth for other things. For example, I can't see a hard-core gamer or other heavy graphics user trying to use anything like this. And, with the apps available over the net, I can't see it being useful to anyone who has internet security as a priority.

Do you know how to kill someone with your pinky finger?

They don't teach that until I make floor manager. :)

Update time! Click here to download!

A note about this update: Several users lately have been adding a team tag in front of their user names to indicate belonging to a specific team. While this is understandable, it makes trying to organize placemarks somewhat difficult, and in some cases made user names ridiculously long. As a result, starting now and in future, team tags will be left off a user's name when added to the placemark file. If you wish to indicate your allegiance in the file, you can always contact me and give me the URL of a custom team signature or other graphic or text to be included in your placemark's label (the box that pops up when a placemark is selected in Google Earth) and I will be happy to include it in the next update. Cheers!

Changes as of 2 March 2008:
Added user Larry
Repositioned several markers of users of Pirates@Home due to system placement errors.
Removed team tags from users Bichou, ninicool and elektrohase

I want to know what incident prompted lawmakers to presume this law was necessary.

I think this law might finally have been repealed, but for a long time in Victoria, British Columbia, it was illegal for a gentleman to escort a lady downtown after dark without wearing a sword.

New Jersey's got a bunch of strange laws on the books. (I grew up there)
One of the stranger laws is you cannot pump your own gas. Yup, full service stations are the way you get gas there.

Delve a little deeper and you might find a reason for that law that isn't so funny. My home city has the same law. The reason for it was a guy who pulled into a service station at night and started pumping gas while being enough of an idiot not to get rid of the cigarette in his face. He ended up blowing up himself, his car, and much of the station.

Can you add me as well, Shane Meyer

You appear to have already been there, listed as "sjmeyer". The label included your stats signature, which is how i figured it was you. I renamed the placemarker accordingly.

Albert Einstein: Done.
