There is nothing wrong with a little socialism, if the people choose it. Unbridled communism on the other hand is another matter, and just as bad as unbridled capitalism. (TV is a discussion for another day.)

"Non-producers" is a little harsh. Some people are just computer challenged. However, I much prefer the old system of one credit for each WU completed. Yes, little old me only had 1102 WU compared to the 897,087,902,099 to the zillionth power that some corporate computers churned out. But, I took pride in my 1102 WUs and the fact that I had processed more work units than 95.973% of the 5m+ participants AND was #28 out of the 430+ who signed up the day I did. Who came up with this new credit system anyway, and did anybody ask me?

I don't agree with Dave's politics, but I do agree with his one WU, one credit philosophy... Now about the crap on TV...!!!!

No assurances here whatsoever...

You sound like a Republican. god forbid we should criticize and hope for change!

I've completed 18 work units over the past few days and haven't been given a fraction of a credit!!! The credits don't realy matter, but I would like to be given some indication that the work my system is doing is making some difference!!! These BOINC problems are so frustrating, that I'm tempted to go with other distributed computing systems (like "Computing against Cancer" and other Life Science projects). I would prefer to stick with BOINC, but I'm beginning to lose my patience. I wish someone would give me some assurance that all workunits will be properly credited and that SETI@Home Classic WU's will be fully converted.

Appreciate the response. Seems a lot of stuff is turned off. Oh, well. I'm sure they'll get it all ironed out.

I've noticed on the ClimatePredictor.net sight, when viewing account data, the data includes "trickles", i.e. details of the latest uploads. Can't we have something similar for SETI@Home?

Thanks much. I did dowload that program, and it does indeed have the map. Perhaps I do not have it configured properly as it only indicates working and pending WU's, not completed ones.

Perhaps someone could point me to a manual and/or instructions on how to configure the program.

I'd like to see someone put together another SETISpy for BOINC. I liked the one for the old SETI@HOME version. It gave detailed infor on current workunits. Also the map view showed completed workunits and highlighted workunits of interest.
