Ok, will watch it and see if any errors come up. The config hasn't changed since lunatics was installed. I don't think it was an out of memory condition, but since I don't actively use the host (it's used mainly as a storage system for my other machines to back up to), I can't be sure. Thanks for looking.

Looks like oclfft_plan or tune switch were set wrong.

Just an FYI, that machine isn't using the tune switch on the command line,
here's what's in the command line file:
-unroll 12 -ffa_block 12288 -ffa_block_fetch 6144

Not sure what the other item is?

I'm not sure if this is a one-off error or not, but thought I'd post it.
Invalid task
The machine that did it hasn't done a lot on Seti, but has been working away on Einstein for some time and I can't remember ever seeing an error on that project. So far, since the lunatics 0.43 installation, it's only gotten three tasks, one pending, this invalid one, and one that hasn't started yet. It does only GPU work, too.

I was hoping that it did work. As there does not seem to be as many tools for customizing non NV hardware. I am not sure if MSI Afterburner or Sapphire TriXX give fan remapping options.

I use MSI Afterburner on my MSI and Sapphire cards, it does allow you to design a custom fan speed profile, but if you have more than one card, it uses the same profile for both, AFAICT (but not that I've dug too deeply into the options, I just use the fan profile mostly...).

While it's not that exact product, I have an HD 6970 with an Accelero Hybrid cooler on it (same basic idea) and it does do a good job cooling the card. Probably 15 - 20 degrees C better than the stock cooler. I used to have an Accelero Xtreme cooler on the same card (air cooling only) and the hybrid is a few degrees better than that was at its best (as it aged, the cooling power diminished, possibly the heat pipes leaked?).
In the same system, I also have a Corsair H70 on the CPU. The one thing you need to be aware of is it can be difficult to route everything around in the system with 2 closed loop systems. I don't know what the reach on the NZXT is like, but the Accelero Hybrid had to go to the rear or bottom of the case (HAF 932) - for my setup, it worked best mounting the fan & radiator on the bottom intake next to/behind the power supply with the fan in intake orientation.

If I had to guess, I'd say that all teams created before a certain date were assigned 1 Mar 1999 because the date wasn't tracked before some date (maybe a couple of years ago)? Looking through the list of University teams, in the first 40, there are only 2 that don't have that date, one in Dec 2012 and one in 2013.
I guess it's possible they were all created on the same day, but it doesn't seem
likely to me...

I have an HD 7950 that works fine in an Asus P5Q Deluxe board, too, and that is a pcie 2.0 spec motherboard... Also have an old Dell XPS 420 running an R7 265 which is a newer version of the HD 7850, the chipset is X38, which I think is the same as the p5e. How powerful is the power supply in that system?

I've had good experience with Corsair AF and SP 120 series fans, they can be a bit more expensive than some, but they work quite well and last.
Here's one example.

You probably don't, but personally I don't like to have SW on my system if it's not needed. It's up to you.

Is that the ATI Catalist Mgr? My choices are change or repair.

That's unusual. Single click the file to highlight it and on the menu bar should be: - Organise - Uninstall - Change - Repair.

Edit: - There should be other ATI files there as well.

In case you want to do the uninstall of Catalyst (AMD/ATI drivers):

The options in the uninstall screen can change depending on what program you are working with. For Win 7 SP1 like on my system, for AMD Catalyst installed with the regular package, the choices are Change or Repair.
If you choose Change, you'll get an AMD Catalyst install shield wizard window with Next or Cancel highlighted. If you click "Next", you'll get three choices:
Uninstall Manager - let's you choose what to remove
Repair Catalyst Install Manager
Express Uninstall ALL AMD Software - Removes all AMD software components, including AMD Catalyst Install Manager.

If you do the Express option, all the AMD/ATI stuff will get removed. You can just watch it do it's thing until close to the end, there's usually one final item that you have to confirm you want to remove (don't remember exactly what off the top of my head, but I think it's the install manager), the confirmation box will remain on screen for that item until you choose to continue.

it's $10 more for the next day or so, and after a $20 MIR would be cheaper.

First machine I can remember was a Dell XPS T600r that had a PIII in it (don't remember the speed) and used expensive RDRAM dimms, I think I maxed it out at 768M of ram after a couple of HW updates. It originally ran Win 98, but at some point I think I updated it to XP. Don't remember the time it took for classic units, though.

In my UEFI BIOS, I found a few settings that were graphics related, but nothing that said "deactivate onboard GPU".
[cut...]
Is that sufficient to disable the CPU graphics? Or did I miss something?

It depends on your chipset, some support the GPU on the processor, some don't.
If you're using one that doesn't, you won't have an on-board graphics choice.

I use MSI Afterburner on a Q6600 running an HD 7770 that does all Einstein. In 4 days 18 hours (since last reboot), it is showing 8.127 seconds of CPU time in Process Explorer. I only use it to control fan speed based on the running temperature of the card, which is probably what the OP would also be doing, so it probably doesn't need to intervene that often. For that kind of use, it seems pretty low overhead to me.

Depends on a few things. Do you only want Nvidia? Is this only for Seti? Is the $75 purchase price or total out of pocket?
I have an old Dell machine that someone gave me that I put a HD7700 into that is doing only Einstein, it's getting almost 25K for a RAC over there, so that's a decent card for Einstein. It's a $70 card after a rebate, there's a similar one on Newegg right now for the same basic price, ie. $100 out of pocket but a $30 rebate.

I don't know if "it's disabled by default in Windows 7" as posted here:
http://superuser.com/questions/200126/are-there-any-negative-effects-of-disabling-the-last-access-timestamp

AndrejaKo: "I'm on fresh installation of windows 7 64bit here and NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate is set to 1 by default."

Just checked this on my main system (Win 7 64) and it's set to disabled, I didn't do this myself, so I would have to agree that it's disabled by default.

Also, I have been using SSDs as the boot drive on my systems for a few years now (and as the only drive in my laptop). One of my older ones is currently showing 709 days of powered on time - it's in a system that isn't always on, so I'd guess the drive is going on 3 years old now. I haven't had any real issues with the actual medium yet. I did have an issue with a Crucial M4 that had a bug related to uptime and that drive had to be RMA'd, but that was due to firmware, not the medium. I currently have Samsung, Plextor, Intel and Kingston SSDs in use. I do have nightly backups running to a NAS just in case, though. (And that's a good idea no matter what kind of drive is being used!)
