Hello NovaPaul

I get this everytime I set-up a new box, it's just a matter of waiting, normally not more that 10-20 mins :)

A problem with file uploads has existed for the last few days. This problem causes file uploads to fail. We now understand the problem and are working on a fix - it will probably require upgrading your BOINC client. Please stay tuned.

Hello Ned :)

This morning I seem to be doing better as well, I only have one failed upload on one box, the rest on that box have gone through ok, so I will leave it alone.

Happy Crunching.

And your solution is.................... :D If you cruch them and the server rejects them, they will still get sent out again.

If you have any ideas please share them :)

Just for your Info.

Reset Project this morning, downloaded new work units and still had the same problem this afternoon, so if it is buggy work units they are still doing the rounds :)

I'm now getting this on a couple of boxes, I will try reseting the project then, of course I will need to do the workaround for the P4 HT bug as well *laugh*

You will only get this problem if you either do a new install or get down to One Work unit, in my testing it will not make any differance if you are using XP SP1 or SP2 :)

On a new install, as soon as you have one WU downloaded, the bonic client will hang, I have never waited to see if in time it sorts itself or not.

I'm not moaning but I hope the Dev team are aware of this bug :)

This a nasty bug, it's affecting every P4 HT I am trying to set-up now, work around = setting to one CPU, downloading work, then setting back to two cpu's.

I have not run out of work yet, I am not looking forward to it either.

I also had this problem with a P4 HT

Change your Preferences - General - On multiprocessors, "use at most 2" processors to "use at most 1", install boinc, then download work, then change it back to use "at most 2"

Worked for me :)

I'm thinking about trying a P4 so

Prescott Vs Northwood

I know Prescott run hot and are power hungry, but does the 1 MB of L2 cache on the Prescott help much with Seti? Does the Prescott overclock much better?

Cheers

Ps. My Best Cruncher is a Dual with Mobile Bartons @ 2400 Mhz, 2 Normal Work Units in 2:50 It keeps up with the Dual Xeons for a lot less money.

Yes, I do know some are multiple CPU Boxes, but I'm still not convinced that any Dual even Quad Xeon could produce 146,134.02 since the beginning of the project, if they could I would get one ;)

The Four Way AMD Opteron looks about correct at 30,449.04

Apologies if I'm Wrong :)

If you look at Top computers by Total Credit

I cannot understand how some of the top runners could have so much credit in the time the project has been running?

I'm I missing something? :)
