I believe that someone had a 45 MHz Pentium running.

The slowest speed Pentium ever made was a Pentium 60MHz. Unless it was underclocked, it must have been at least that fast.

@MattDavis, I had a Pentium 90MHz crunching six months ago, but had to take it down due to energy costs. :(

I have a Pentium 90MHz laptop with 32 megs of RAM. How much RAM did yours have? If you had 32 and it worked then I'll hook it up to a BOINC project.

I have a 450MHz p3 crunching Rosetta and Einstein and I got to thinking - there have to be even slower computers crunching BOINC projects.

So, post your entry (with link) to your slowest cruncher. The only rule is that it has to currently be active and crunching a BOINC project with successful results.

I want to see what old boxes you people have running!

The last of the bprion work units should go out today. After that there will be a down time while we implement new methods of protein structure prediction. Thank you for your support in this project and we look forward to working with you again.

So that's what, 5 people now that complained about his abuse of the seti database? That's what it is.......

There are more I'm guessing. He sneaks and changes them quickly sometimes so noone can get a quick look at what he's done with them......

Okay i watched enterprise a whole episode trough last night and am curious when its time set it is in compaired to the other verisons? Anyone and what is the geneal reason. And why is it the INS Enterprise?

It's set about 10 years before the creation of the Federation.

The INS Enterprise episode was one of the "mirror universe" episodes that we also saw in TOS and DS9.

Okay i hadnt watched it much. But the mirror universe in TNG was awesome! When Gynan (spelled wrong) was the only one who knew its was incorrect.

Well, that wasn't the mirror universe - that was an alternate timeline.

The mirror universe is the actual separate universe with the "evil" Starfleet (like in TOS) and then the very different chain of events in DS9.

Einstein@home just released a new, project-supported optimized app that cuts crunch times by 1/3! This isn't 3rd party - it's downloaded automatically though BOINC!

Just a heads up since people here like to talk about optimized apps.
