Posted 19 Feb 2010 by Rookie_69 Post: Well, after due consideration, and the seeming lack of interest from the seti staff to resolve or even engage with contributor's about what is (or not!) happening, I'm ceasing my contribution to this project. The "digital watch" that I'm looking at right now doesn't seem to mind not having much to do... |

Posted 18 Feb 2010 by Rookie_69 Post: Bye. I mean, It's above freezing here and I don't need seven old heater boxes running to keep my apartment warm, so I'm not really worried. If it get's colder, I can always switch back to my second favorite project for a while.(Or turn the thermostat above 5C.) That's kinda why they developed BOINC, isn't it? Oh wait... That's six old boxes. I cleaned one up and donated it to a friend so she could access her Facebook account without going over to her mom's. Hmm... Maybe I should have left BOINC running on it... Oh well... Too late now. Been searching almost seven years here... |

Posted 20 Jan 2005 by Rookie_69 Post: Heinlein's Stranger was a really good read for me, but Anne McCaffrey's Pern books probably held my attantion the longest... I still don't think I read them all. I got poor and sold all my books, so I don't really have an easy way to tell any more... I read Doug Adams' Hitchhikers and two or three Dirk Gentlys too. Loved them! |

Posted 18 Jan 2005 by Rookie_69 Post: Now some of his work was barely readable or worse, but I really enjoyed L. Ron Hubbard's Battlefield Earth. I spent a weekend and a couple of nights after work reading the 1064 pages or whatever. There were some parts where I felt that I was Johnny Goodboy Tyler, and the rest of the book that I was just there with him. The movie left way too much out. Glenn. |
