Why would you want to do that?

Thanks for the info Martin. The main reason, I did not want to run my pc too hard until I understood what all BOINC does with my pc. ;) Some apps. aren't very friendly lol.

I also want to run BOINC while I'm using the pc or not. I run photoshop, mx, and many other programs like marine aquarium screensaver. Will constant file saving, filter use, etc make BOINC crash?

You can only do such a thing with add-on software. Visit the Add-on Page and download Threadmaster.

Thanks, I will check it out.

Hello,

I have been playing around with the settings trying to find the right setup. I just can't figure out how to lower my CPU usage. Right now I've set my virtual memory to 80% max with 2 processors.

The only way I can lower the CPU usage to say 50% is limiting use to one processor... Does anyone know how I can have 2 processors with about 80% usage normally?

Here's pc info ;) http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1966467

Thanks

...if you double click the B icon in your tray (instead of rebooting), it magically fixes itself...

Thanks for this info, It worked perfectly for me. :) Saved me a few hours of hair pullin. Must be a bug in the version that causes this problem.
