Well that probably isn't going to happen since I have all my cores busy but maybe one of these days I will have a Xenon 32 core.

Of course I already knew the answer to the question.

Just wanted to stop by and use up my apostrophes.

(or lack there of)

Or post on the boards here?

Since I see some of the same people posting at other projects with zero Rac

You will find that toaster years before the extra terrestrial

Or another boson before the old version of Mr Ed coming from a distant planet with life anywhere in the Milky Way.

I decided to stop by and do a few tasks here with one of my extra machines and just in time for a server update and no work to do.

So I imagine as soon as the server is ready to give out the tasks I will be back doing some other Einstein or LHC's

(just typing to myself since I don't even have enough current RAC to post here)

Ok back to Max Planck and Alberts server for some New Year crunching......

Just stopped by for a visit but the site says I can't post or reply to a couple old members here because I don't have the "credits" to do so.

Well I admit my RAC is low since I have been busy with Einstein and a LHC project but you can tell I am not new here.

So does this mean I have to run some WU's before I can say hello?

Well you must be related to many of my computers HAL!

Over my many years here I have had HAL3000,HAL_3000,and HAL_5767 (I'm on that one right now)

And I see more HAL's in the future here too!

Have a Happy

Well I hope the Einstein server comes back to life ASAP

(yeah I know this is SETI)

But I have to say it....happens to me every time I have a stack of them finished days before they are due.....and then this happens.

Ok.......back to your regular programming

Thanks Misfit!

Well you will never catch my Seti Classic,Einstein,or LHC numbers and I will never catch your Seti II numbers or your almost 18,000 posts here

Why did you stop running Einsteins?

I see you are in So Cal......I just watched my LAKERS get another win and go to

42 - 9

YOW....even took my DSL a while to load your page

Well I'm glad they email us about this or I would not have caught it this time.

Many moons ago I got one of those user of the day things from SETI Classic.

Must admit I spend most of the time running Einstein and LHC these days.....but when they both have a server problem I'll knock off some SETI's

Just being nice and sharing all the SETI work with you

I wouldn't mind turning them into a Rolls or a Bentley but I tend to keep my cars forever.

I have had the Oldmobile since 1979 (1970 Cutlass Supreme 455/500ftlbs torque)

And my Jaguar is a 1980 that I built a GM 350 racer for and installed 2yrs ago with so much chrome you have to wear sun glasses to look at it.

They only come out on a sunny day too (spoiled cars)

Fast and smooth.........

Well I just switched over to my dual processor machine and it loaded more no problem so I guess it has nothing to do with the server (of course I checked server status to begin with but you never know)

I don't think I have had Seti on the other one since Seti Classic.....but it acts like it is loading and finishes and just keeps saying "download failed"

Is this just a server problem right now or is it something else?

Seti is running on one of my other machines but since Einstein and LHC are asleep I decided to run it on this one and it failed the downloads about 50 times and I tried a reset and still did the same thing........I imagine this is mentioned all the time but I will go blind if I have to keep looking for the answer so I decided to bore you with the question.

Thanks

Well that's a heck of a note!

Since I finished all my LHC's and just have a few Einsteins loaded I thought I would get back to doing some Seti work and I tried several times to d/l and it got halfway loaded and then said that.

No big deal but I just thought I would do some again since it had been a while and I was one of the original Seti group (and I have been snowed in all week here in the land of Bill Gates)

Maybe I will check Seti Beta and see if that works.

(I just tried and had no problem getting some AstroPulse Beta)

That is exactly what I got Steve.

I did a d/l today and when it finished it would not u/l and when I went to check any LHC link on that site it gave me the same blank page with that "forbidden access"

It seems that if they are still giving us data then they should at least have the server ready to u/l it.

If they are out of work then they should just say so and it only takes one person there to update the page with a simple explanation instead of wasting our time with it.

Reminds me of seti asking for contributions from us that spend thousands of dollars doing this in the first place.

I hope the Einstein project runs better and actually does some good.

If not I can use all my computers to read my email

Well I agree with that Mike but after running SETI for just over 4yrs and today hitting the 70,000hrs/10,713 WU mark I have to let that slide since they have over 5 million others to deal with.

LHC + my dialup ISP = me staying awake 24/7 just trying to get anything from the server.........and I run 4 pc's here at home just for things like this!
