Post: Thanks for the help. What I did was exit BOINC and restart and that seemed to give it the boot in the nether regions it needed. |

(Message 73810)
Posted 24 Jan 2005 by Bill Price
Post: I have 2 completed BOINC work units waiting to be reported. They've been completed for several hours. I checked the messages and there's been no attempt to contact the server to report the completed units or download new units. There's no message on the S@H2 homepage indicating a problem. Anyone else having this problem? |

Post: Re Starship Troopers, did you see the movie? What a bunch of trash that was! On topic, my favorite has always been Heinlein, my favorite of his The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. I'd like to see a movie made of it, but I think maybe a female director is in order, because Heinlein obviously was in touch with his feminine side. |

Imagine
(Message 53786)
Posted 14 Dec 2004 by Bill Price
Post: To those who want all of us to believe as they do I submit the following. All credit to the late John Lennon: Imagine there's no heaven, It's easy if you try, No hell below us, Above us only sky. Imagine all the people, Living for today yu-huh. Imagine there's no countries, It isn't hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for, And no religion too. Imagine all the people, Living life in peace yu-huh. You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope some day you'll join us, And the world will be as one. Imagine no possesions, I wonder if you can, No need for greed or hunger, A brotherhood of man. Imagine all the people, Sharing all the world yu-huh. You may say I'm a dreamer ... |

Most graphic and disturbing movie scene ever?
(Message 46013)
Posted 13 Nov 2004 by Bill Price
Post: The scariest movie scene I ever remember was when I was about 6, my parents took me to the drive-in to see Rodan. There is a scene, before Rodan becomes a flying beast, where there are some people walking through a flooded mine and something underwater keeps taking people down for the count. I had nightmares for months after that...when I could get to sleep at all! Bill |

No work from project
(Message 44150)

Post: I'm running the Boinc Beta version 4.09. It's been running O.K. for about the last month and a half. As of last Thursday (11/4/04) it stopped receiving work units. My computer runs 24/7 over the weekend (6:00 PM Friday to 10:00 PM Monday) and so far hasn't received any new work units. There's been no update on the main page since Friday, and nothing said about any problems. Anyone have any ideas? |
