1) Message boards : Number crunching : Nvidia GTX 460 (Message 1046671)

I have an MSI GTX460 Cyclone OC, but curiously I think the GFLOPS estimate is wrong. It is showing up as 363 GFLOPS, while my 9800GTX+ is showing 499GFLOPS.

Comments? How does it compute GFlops, what does BOINC rate yours, etc. How to fix or is it broken?

You may wish to link to the optimized athlon clients for Linux, so perhaps add a link or checking this page:

Thanks!

BOINC is only using one cpu of my dual AMD, even though my preferences say to use 4 instances... this used to work a week ago, but not now. What to do?

That tip did the trick. Who would have thought that Windows Explorer would helpfully unzip the file, then forget to tell you and offer to rename it? Go figure.

At any rate, thanks for the tips, it is now installed on 4/5 home computers, just need to attach KVM to a box in the corner...

gzip says it is not of that format, so trying the -l and -t options are of no use. The file size is about 8.5mb, is this packed or unpacked size, and does Explorer tend to un-gzip things on the fly? This was http downloaded, not ftp.
6) Message boards : Number crunching : Setting SETI-1, BOINC priorities (Message 3866)

Ideally I would prefer BOINC to run if it has data, if not, then revert back to SETI-1 proggies.

Is this possible in Win and linux? Seems like if I have both BOINC and SAH-1 clients running with data, whichever one grabs the CPU first continues, the other waits because it needs idle time to jump in. Ideas?

Or simply patience, allowing the OS to sort it out and switch programs when one goes down for data transfer?

downloading BOINC software from a win pc, saved to my linux pc (wonders of SAMBA), I am getting errors trying to gzip -d or gunzip the boinc file, error returned is "not in gzip format"

What to do?
