I have had the same issue as the OP since about the 25th. After reading thru this thread I upgraded to the latest enhanced app and all 80 reports uploaded. The time stamp on the app_info.xml did not change.

many of the laptop FDD have a usb port on the back.
Might look around for one of those.

I still have my trs-80 color II and it still works.
Had the cassette and a small thermal printer.
note to self.. dont leave printed programs in parents attic.

8) Questions and Answers : GPU applications : Are WU cuda specific? (Message 891364)

Thanks! Seems odd that is it not just another cpu. Sort of like switching seti version while you have some processing. The execution app is inside the slots.

Thanks again.

9) Questions and Answers : GPU applications : Are WU cuda specific? (Message 891224)

Post:
Are the WU that download specific to the GPU?
I had all 4 processors and the cuda process running.
I set the down load to not download any more wu last week and everything was busy still.
Today I check and the gpu is running but the cpus are idle with 82 wu still in the queue.
So this makes me think that the wu are different eg only for the gpu.

It can also happen if you set your percentage of cpu usage low.
On an dual i set mine to 90 b/c it was laggin out the mouse thinking it would use each processor only 90 percent. What it did was floor( 2 * .9 ) = 1
ok just guessing at the math lol but that was the net effect.

so i moved it back to 100% and just set it to not run when in use and to restart after 1 min of non use.

never had any problems before but this is on a vista box.

13) Message boards : Number crunching : To much work? (Message 866034)
Posted 16 Feb 2009 by Profile Searcher
Post:
I had results in the queue so I thought it was from a reporting standpoint. I see those have been reported just fine.
The error itself is sort of an odd wording with "results" in it. Looks like it should read "200 work units" instead.

Just noticed this message:
2/15/2009 11:26:03 PM|SETI@home|Message from server: (reached daily quota of 200 results)
Is that from reporting or from fetching?

Searched the forum but did not find any references to it.

Another thing I am not sure the stats are correct anymore with this latest version. It is way low on host average... or if it is correct it is 3 legged dog slow.

It seems to have fixed itself.
/me = worry wart today.

LOL
I am just watching these closer since I just upgraded the version.

I had just never seen it do that with nothing in the queue.
Sorry i was not clear in the OP. It had no tasks and was not trying to get any.

This is weird... I don't have it set to "No new tasks" so it should at least be trying to get work?? right? (and it is not suspended either)

Any clues?

As said earlier in this thread, try the Nvidia notebook drivers from http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook_drivers.html (no one pointed you to them, though ;))

When I first looked for updated drivers I did look there. For the 1600M they pointed me to HP. :(

From HP...
NVIDIA Quadro FX 1600M Current Version:176.87
HP requires that you download the driver for your GPU from their support site.

You can find more information at: http://www.hp.com.

The GeForce M series and GeForce Go series notebook GPUs use drivers that have been customized by the notebook manufacturers to support hot key functions, power management functions, lid close and suspend/resume behavior. NVIDIA has worked with some notebook manufacturers to provide notebook-specific driver updates, however, most notebook driver updates must come from the notebook manufacturer. Additionally, the desktop GeForce graphics drivers will not install on Geforce M series and Quadro M series notebook GPU's.

Unless I am just missing something.

Tried the driver and inf from laptopvideo2go but no go.
Windoze (or maybe the hardware) did not like it.

I uninstalled it all the way down to system vga and reinstalled it with no luck.
ugg... you forget how ugly vga is..
