4.18 client issue on 2 computers

Uninstalling BOINC is kinda a last resort if things have been working OK and you suddenly have connection problems. It's much more likely to some internet problem or a SETI server problem than anything to do with your PC. And if you uninstall and delete SETI has send you the application again which is now pretty big. I would agree, however I have around 90 Macs all crunching away and they are all working just fine. It also seems strange that both computer using 4.45 & 4.19 have the exact same issue. This has been going on for at least a week, actually since the 4.18 update to the SETI worker. |

4.18 client issue on 2 computers

Posted 1 Jul 2005 by Laurence Hawkins Post: In the past week I've been getting this message over and over on two different computers... I have uninstalled, deleted the entire BOINC folder. Searched the entire computer for anything with BOINC in its name and deleted it. I reinstall and then immediatelly get the message as soon as I attach to the project. Has anyone else experienced this? It is happening on both PCs I have attached. For some reason it is not happening on the Mac client. BTW, I tried going back to the previous version (4.19 I think) and it does the same thing... The problem is that these two machines are the fastest ones I have and so they are a much bigger loss than the rest. My computer list needs more detail
(Message 11634)
Posted 23 Jul 2004 by Laurence Hawkins Post: It would be really handy if the list of computers could be sorted by date of last contact, date of last returned result, and date of last downloaded work unit. I have many computers at many different locations and it would be much easier to see when a computer has stopped working without having to ssh into each one and verify that it is still working. --Laurence |
