Post: Seems to be a good place to ask, Curently running 2 systems:- 1 = AMD 64 3500 Vista HP 2 = AMD 64x2 4200 XP Pro Both running BOINC v.5.10.28 Both running KWSN 2.4v MB SSE2A. Qustion, is there any difference between KWSN 2.4v MB SSE2A and KWSN 2.4v MB SSE2 (which appears on Crunch3rs site) I suspect that the suffix A is a later, more reliable version? And, of course, is the the correct App(s) for my systems! |

Post: I've recently upgraded from Windows 2000 Pro. to Vista Home Prem (nothing else upgraded) When I looked at the Computer identifications, BOINC reports that my Processor : Running Vista - "AuthenticAMD AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+ x86 Family 15 Model 47 Stepping 0" Running W2k - "AuthenticAMD AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+ x86 Family 15 Model 15 Stepping 0 fpu tsc sse 3dnow mmx" Is Boinc or Vista reporting a change of Processor Model ((W2k=15)(Vista=47))? |

Post: Strange thing happened - Patch Tuesday. Did my updates yesterday (Wednesday), and after a reboot everthing seems to be ok. Boinc is listing all my w/u's my ul/dl appears normal. One of the updates stated 'reliability' could this be what was wrong? Has me at a loss, but everything now appears back to normal. Anyway :- Av CPU Efficiency = 0.992843 Running = 99.1707 Allowed = 99.985 Lord T |

Post: It could be the Duration Correction factor. You can see this using BOINCView (at least, you can with BV 1.4.2, which is what I'm using). Projects tab, right-click on the column title row, check 'Duration correction' at the bottom. complete reinstall is never the preferred solution! I couldn't get 1.4.2 to work (probably something simple missing), so I cannot check 'Duration correction', any other solution? |
