Will a HTTPS proxy work?
What is the optimum location for a Proxy? Could it be located in the US rather than somewhere else (in order to minimize the distance between Seti server and the proxy)?

Of course, getting new tasks is an entirely different, and more difficult, problem.

Thanks for looking. I have tried the no new task option twice and they are still showing in my tasks window. I understand we have a problem getting work units. I have my preferences set to take any type work unit. I am still not getting units. Is the work scheduler down or we just out of units?

Is anyone still having issues with Auto Errored tasks? Basically tasks that error out before they're even downloaded or process, usually with impossible deadlines?

My guess is it's a small problem where although they're using 64 bit server builds, a variable is only initialized with a 32 bit value. But it certainly could be a deliberate addition of a particular value for obscure purposes.

I suspect Matt is not around and probably the only thing being done is the weekly backup. There may be lots of new servers but it would seem that there is not enough to pay for the staffing. And of course lots of new servers should need less maintenance so you can cut back further on staff.

My main machine ran out of work due to the "upload" problem, now I have had 6 tasks, all shorties, all done.
Oh well see how things are shaping up tomorrow.

Yep it's only really a minor irritation in the scheme of things. The Seti gang have remote boot power strips so sometimes it can be reset from home, other times it requires a lab visit. Bruno is shown as green and running so no idea what the problem is. As I write it is 2am in Berkeley on Sunday morning, so they might leave it until 8am on Monday which is 30 hours away.
