Posted 3 Dec 2004 by ![]() Post: Oops, sorry...didnt read properly...need more sleep :p I dont have a good solution to this, but you can try this. Put your pc into the DMZ list in the router. This basically placing your pc outside the router firewall (get a software firewall ready before hand). Worth trying to see whether the router firewall is the issue or something else in the router. |

Posted 3 Dec 2004 by ![]() Post: Lets make it simple for understanding. It does not matter where you upload the wu, where you download or even where the scheduler is. Infact, the location could change monthly. What most important is the address book telling the client where to get the information. Why? You cant just goto the upload folder and ask where to download or where the scheduler is. You just goto the address book for location upload, download location. And this address book is located in http://setiathome.berkeley.edu As long you are running normal seti boinc program, you must attach to http://setiathome.berkeley.edu unless told otherwise. |

Posted 9 Nov 2004 by ![]() Post: push the pc slowly and do benchmarking of the pc if it successfully boot up. And do more intensive benchmarking of the pc system once you are happy with that value you have set. The Ideal you are looking for is difference from pc to pc. What type of cpu, motherboard, ram, graphic card, psu, heatsink, fans in the casing and mod you done to your pc will influence this Ideal line. |

Posted 30 Sep 2004 by ![]() Post: Here something for you to think about the time you work on the wu can actually slow down if your pc is proccesing something else if you set boinc to work non-stop example, a wu said it taken 2 hour to complete but in real-life it taken 2 hours and 15 minutes. thats what happening to me. try it |
