What other programs are running at the same time?
Is Boinc set to leave wu in memory.
It's possible that another program overwrites the wu that is temp stored in memory.

How do you select whether to leave WU in memory on a particular machine? I've never seen this choice.

The computer is running one and only one application besides Boinc. That's UPS WORLDSHIP 8.0

I installed a seti@home Boinc under XP Pro at work (with permission). This copy has now done 12 units and they all have this error. I don't know what it means or how to fix it. If anyone has any clues and can email me details I'd appreciate it. I am not terribly familiar with XP Pro. It was installed so any user could run it though this particular CPU always logs in as admin....

I have installed under XP regular with no issues (as you will see if you look at my list of computers.)

Your results show that you are also running SETI Client 4.18, which is the "standard" client that comes with the BOINC Manager 4.43.

Thank you. My brain didn't quite grasp this bit of trivia and I thought it wasn't installed properly.

I've just (I hope) fixed the fact it's created multiple IDs for my computers. Yay Merge? :)

Okay. I was running the Darwin version. Yay 4.19 and I saw that 4.4.3 was posted. Yay.

I installed boinc manager w/screen saver. It works. However it appears to still be running 4.19 and 4.43.

So I have this Darwin client downloaded and if I expand it, I get two files BOINC and the CMD one. I tried running Boinc (you get terminal) it starts but then stops and I can't type anything. I am just so confused.

I've tried and tried and I need help.

Wow. So it's by the BOINC signup date and not the original Seti sign-up date if I understand you correctly? (And thank you! for the answer).

PS: How do you make the cool signature with the graphic results in it? If you prefer to answer by email I'm at darsys at aol dot com :)

Weirdness...

Why are not the team members sorted from most to least like they used to be. It's updating (finally) but they're out of order. What's the logic?

I have this problem and I don't have ANY login. I just turn on the system and it goes straight in. It's frustrating....

Many of us are still using Mac OS-9

I am hoping that someone will make an OS-9 version of the Boinc client. Otherwise when S@H classic shuts, I'll have to stop running it. Someone volunteer :)

I have this problem as well. I have NO logins. It just boots right into Windoze. I had this error on XP, XP SP2 (just installed) as well as Boinc v3 and Boinc v4 just installed. So I just don't know WHAT to do. It's frustrating.

I'm about to throw the towel in on Boinc -- it's beset with bugs, crashes, installation problems, operational problems.

This problem is my last straw -- so if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. I've got it running on one PC instead of classic as a trial (my other two still run Classic). Boinc on my PC has received and returned nearly ONE DOZEN units. So far my credit remains at /0/ for Boinc after nearly two weeks. What is going on?

(my ID is http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/show_user.php?userid=154928)

You can post here or e-mail with help at darsys /at/ aol /dot/ com

It's really frustrating as I know two WU were lost due to the server crash. But I had sent one before and I've sent some since. And I can't even check if they're pending because that feature isn't working. However as much time as has passed I can't imagine that's the problem.
