I'm still getting this:
4/6/2019 9:09:09 PM | SETI@home | Scheduler request failed: HTTP service unavailable

So something may not be fully functioning, or the circuit is probably overloaded.

I did not "LET" windows update the drivers, but it seems they had, despite the Device manager stating that it was using the Nvidia Drivers. But now that they have just been updated, I now see this.

8/21/2016 11:40:41 PM | | CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX 750 Ti (driver version 372.54, CUDA version 8.0, compute capability 5.0, 2048MB, 1689MB available, 1606 GFLOPS peak)
8/21/2016 11:40:41 PM | | CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 1: GeForce GTX 550 Ti (driver version 372.54, CUDA version 8.0, compute capability 2.1, 1024MB, 816MB available, 691 GFLOPS peak)
8/21/2016 11:40:41 PM | | OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX 750 Ti (driver version 372.54, device version OpenCL 1.2 CUDA, 2048MB, 1689MB available, 1606 GFLOPS peak)

OpenCL is back.

I had been running WU's successfully for a week after the Windows 10 Anniversary update. And then after another reboot I got these messages. It finished a bunch of GPU WU's and now the ones that are partial and un-started are not doing anything.

It sounds like some of you here understand what is going on (wrong) with GPU WU's.

Here is a typical one of mine.
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=5091711249

On the one PC that has good GPU power.

Any insight would be helpful.
I am using BOINC 7.6.33, but this was happening on 7.6.22 as well.
I have updated the GPU software 2 times in the last 2 months and it is still having issues.

GPU's are Nvidea ver 368.81.
I had tried downgrading to a point where I didn't have as many failures, but that has no longer helped.

Windows 10 privacy paranoia leads to ban from private pirate torrent trackers

Fears surrounding Windows 10's online connectivity and data collection are continuing to run rampant. The latest fallout is something that Microsoft probably won't be too upset about: some private BitTorrent trackers that trade entirely in pirated media appear to have banned the use of Microsoft's operating system.

Our entire building suffered some wild power fluctuations early this morning, affecting many projects including SETI@home. This is completely unrelated to power issues from a couple weeks ago. Despite losing some hardware all of our services are recovering.

My Clients keep getting this message in my notices from May 18th.

There was a major power outage on Tuesday evening that affected several buildings here on campus including the entire Space Sciences Laboratory. Power has been restored this morning, and we are slowly getting the project back on line.

Considering how long SETI has been around and how much data they have accumulated and processed, this server issue was bound to happen.
As a volunteer based and funded program, this has gone quite well over the last few years. Having some down time to implement new equipment and do some very much needed cleanup and mainitnence on the DB is a good thing.
There are so many Existing and NEW projects out there that my computers will be quite busy on other work, but I look forward to start processing WU's for SETI again.

Little green men are out there and I want to find them.

Hydrogen seems like less of a viable option due to the sheer volume of it that it would take to get equal distance from the vehicle as a tank of gas.

I heard on a radio show that for a hydrogen powered car to travel 200 miles ( 10 gallons of gasoline just as an example since some cars get far more mileage ) the tank for the Hydrogen would, all by itself, weigh 2000 pounds.

For a service station to have hydrogen available, it would take immense holding tanks.

Corn based ethanol doesn't seem to be a good solution. Unfortunately, everyone got on the corn bandwagon and almost completely dismissed other sources. Sawgrass would be a more efficient source, and wouldn't create the havoc with food prices that we are seeing with corn.

Another source that people aren't paying any attention to is sugar. Brazil uses sugar to make their ethanol. The new Farm Bill ( that President Bush has plans to veto ) has a provision that any sugar being imported into the United States has to go for ethanol production. The main reason for that is because when sugar is imported from Mexico, it has to be re-processed anyway.

We don't have enough ( as far as I know ) sugar growers out there to provide enough to make the needed amount of ethanol to completely remove us from foreign oil dependence, but last year, our company produced over 1 billion pounds of sugar. Seems to me, we could have gotten a lot of ethanol out of that.

Not to mention that, if the sugar is going for ethanol, it doesn't have to go through our entire process, AND it would be pretty doggone easy to store.

All of this MAY be true, but the environment and NOT the economy is what is most important. Economies will recover and they will eb and flow within my lifetime. ANWR, if opened up and if there is one accident ( there will be one ), will recover not in my lifetime or the lifetime of my children, but in thousands of years, provided we leave after the first accident.
OIL, although we need it now, is not the answer to our problems. A wholesale shift in thinking needs to take place with in our government and the businesses that are trying to exploit the lands that are held in TRUST for the US population. Privitisation will never think of the planet first, but is only for short term goals called PROFIT, NOW!
Call me a greenie, or a liberal, but the earth is NOT a renewable resource. It is finite and can be destroyed if WE as a people, USA citizens and the rest of the world do nothing NOW to protect it.

Shifting to a HYDROGEN society would probably cost the same as building and producuing the oil from the still protected areas. The technology is here now. What company has the BALLS to take this shift on, because they will be the ones reaping the profits of the NEXT economy. Provided a war doesn't break out first. Well, at least Georgie porgie won't be the one starting it.

Please rant me if you feel the need.
