Hiya,
I have opened up a command prompt under/as administrator and have used the command
sfc / scannow

after about ten minutes or so, the result was as follows...

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Any suggestions with regards to being able to download ... cufft32_32_16.dll

I had NVidia driver v341.74 and I tried the latest Nvidia drivers (direct from nvidia) v342.01

Any help would be much appreciated

So do I have to manually register the file …
regsvr32 cufft32_32_16.dll

to make it work ?

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have to constantly check on my host to ensure that it has work units to crunch. I'm doing so at a rate of 24x at a time.

Anyway... boinc/seti refuses to download anymore work units for my host because of a stalled download. I understand this.

But it keeps happening/returning. And no matter how long I wait and leave it to do its own thing or manually intervene and retry pending transfers etc. . Unless I abort that download. My host wouldn't get any new work units to crunch.

I even used a new blank hdd and freshly reinstalled windows and fully updated it and I have reinstalled boinc and its still happening.

the file is …
cuft32_32_.dll 2.84MB

any advise on this please ?

Kindest Regards,
John

Hello,

I have noticed that i'm participating in around 18 different projects. But they don't all link up with the right/the same cpid.

A search on my user name reveals that i have 4 accounts.

The following users have been found:

User Name Country Team URL Options
Jon Boy UK - Wales United Kingdom
Jon Boy UK - Wales United Kingdom
Jon Boy UK - Wales United Kingdom
Jon Boy UK - Wales United Kingdom

How is this they all have the same user id email address etc.

On one account i'm in the top 100k in another the top 500k and so on.

Can they all be linked together?

Hello,

Thank you for your help.

I forgot to mention that the hdd on the server is blank and ready for an install.

Right here we go....My experience I have never ever played with a server before in my life and no nothing about them....Uh oh am in trouble.

I can however build a normal pc from scratch partition hdd's and install windows xp for eg.So i guess i'm not to bad on a conventional pc..

As for servers i know nothing about.

I would like some links to linux for example with some idiot proof instructions on how to get the server up and runng so i can run more instanced of seti.

John

Hello to all,

I'm hoping that someone here can help me with a problem.

I want to use a compaq dl760 server that has 8x xeon 900 Mhz cpu's.
I can't afford to buy microsoft advanced server 2003 at the moment.

But i was told that i can get a linux os that will support the server having 8 cpu's free of charge.

Is this true and do you know what version etc and where to get it from.

Thanks for any help and assistance that you give in advance i'm really gratefull... :)

Hello,

With Ref: To optimising S@H

Seti memeber FREE mentioned the following:
Another, unrelated, BTW: If you want to increase your SETI RAC a bit on those P3's, grab the SSE-optimized SETI application:
http://lunatics.at/index.php?PHPSESSID=cc03a8ca20d88764267cd8290fab1dbe&module=Downloads;catd=9

( Just dump the extracted files into ~./program files/boinc/projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu )

Could you be a little more specific as to what SSE optimisation prog to click on

THe pc's i have are both dual compaq workstations with P3 cpu's if this helps. The os version is win xp pro.

I would prefer an auto installer if poss just to limit user mistakes..lol
My pc knowledge is average...

Kind regards,

Hello,

Email address is the same on all accounts.

i just can't work out the reason for this to have happened.

I'm just running 2 instances of seti & wcg.

Maybe all will sort it self out.
The only thing i haven't checked is the cross project identifier id.

John

Hello,

Untill a few moments ago i participated in 3 projects.
seti,cpdn & world community grid
i noticed that the 11,000 difference may be to with the world community grid as i have accumilated about that many points with them and the various stats/graphs etc aren't being displayed.

Maybe the problem - i do hope that it gets sorted out in due course as it would be a little disapointing to say the least.

I have updated and detached from cpdn as my pc wasn't best pleased with me running that project. And having problems 2-3 into the start of a new project (may or may not be there fault) doesn't encourage me.

John

Hello,

I have only been a memember cpdn for a few weeks.
And today i been given a -11,378 credit for the day.
I have only ever earnt 500 or so credit points with cpdn so to get downgraded 11,000 of work crunched for seti & wcomm grid seems odd.

Hello,
Thanks for your replies.

The proliant server i was thinking of using i had a look inside today.
It has 8 x xeon 700mhz cpu's installed
4Gb ram
4x hdd

Would increasing the ammount of installed ram help in any way?

So with all previous replies in mind...
Using the above server i could run 8x workunits of seti (8 x cpu's installed) at a time and i can put all this on one hdd.

I assume attach to the project in the normal manner and 8x work units would if availiable be downloaded and all run at the same time.

I also have another proliant server availiable the spec as follows:
4 x xeon 700mhz cpu
2Gb ram
2 hdd

So i could run another 4 units if availiable with this also then.

So if i used both servers i could run a total of 12 x seti workuits if i wished to do so.

Regards,

John
