Posted 17 Apr 2005 by Velez's Post: Thierry, Your proxy settings helped me to get my Seti Classics going. I'll try the same on Boinc. However, how do I add a proxy server to boinc? There must be an XML file but which one and what is the format? Do you know? I live in the south of France and this has been down for a week. I'm trying to get boinc up and running for my father's birthday (he actually owns the accounts). Thanks again, Michael |

Posted 17 Apr 2005 by Velez's Post: OK, OK. I've been reading other posts (in the Windows section as well) and I am living in France using Wanadoo. It seems there is a server connection problem between Wanado and Cogent. I guess this is my problem. Michael |

Posted 17 Apr 2005 by Velez's Post: As a follow-up, if I do a $ host setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu I get a response saying: setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu is an alias for setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu When I try to ping setiboincdata, I get a hung process and no reply. I've tried this for the past few days. And for the past few days, the windows machines running SETI classic have not been able to connect to the seti server either. Michael |

Posted 17 Apr 2005 by Velez's Post: Hello, I have just recompiled the boinc software for a Linux x86_64 architecture. The compile worked fina after I made a few modifications due to template declarations as the gcc 3.4.3 compiler is more restrictive than the compiler used to create the original boinc, i assume. However, now I get an error when Linux requests new work: [Seti@home] Scheduler RPC to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkely.edu/sah_cgi/cgi failed [SETI@home] No scheduler responded Also, the three windows machines using the classic account do not work anymore. Please help, as I was originally trying to get this up and running for my father's birthday on 17th April. I did notice something. My father's e-mail address that is currently tied to the account is josevelez58@hotmail.com. His previous address was: josevelez@tiscali.fr. When the new boinc account was created, it had for my father's profile the tiscali.fr address, which I changed to the current one he uses for his classic account: josevelez@hotmail.com Could that have something to do with it?
