Bionic is crap, old SETI works like an clock.
I have been spending 3 seconds with the old program and hours with the new Bionic thingy and haven't got it to work yet.

I am concerned about my new computer crashing Work Units, how can I search the Workunit database by result ID's to verify that the other user are getting the same results?

When I attempt to look at your puters I see this, it is blank. This confirms you're failing to attach to the project. What is the Exact message you get when it fails to attach(the message in the attachment wizard, NOT messages tab.

"Failed to attach to project"
"Click finish to close"
"Messages from server" <no messages in box>

FYI I eneterd "setiathome.berkeley.ed" then "lennyw@comcast.net" and <my password> for the existing account. WHich I can log into from the setathome home page on the www.

Nope, not even one, but I check the results frequently because I don't want to mess up many results, caused by client updates or so.

I sometimes see boxes with hundreds of errors from co-crunchers of my pending workunits but they keep fetching more. If there would be a quick way to check for errors, the owners would probably stop BOINC in order to check what's wrong.

I see the class recacl has knocked off my home machine from my class listing. I stopped processing on Dec 1. My work computer which processed until Dec 9, is still there.

It would be nice to increase the filter by a month to get those who switched over shortly after the e-mail went out.

I run one seti wu which takes up say 12 seconds of actual listening time from arecibo on a specific frequency (i have no idea if it's 12 seconds or not but bear with me). Now if Arecibo recorded 60 seconds at the same frequency from the same point in the sky there are 4 other work units out there. What if I have a signal toward the end of my wu and another cruncher picks up the rest of the signal on his work unit; will that be noticed? I assumed that setiathome's computers 'ran them all together' to see if there was something overlapping.

What is the plans to convert the credits obtained with classic seti@home into BOINC credits. Is the number of work units completed to be multiplied by the average BOINC credits, and added to the total?

When will this be added?

I think he means the list you get when, in BOINC Manager, you go to File > Select Computer. I'd like to know too!

I just had a boat load of pending credits get granted. Slowly but surely things are going good. :-)

I believe even with the 2 people that returned results, that a 3rd one will be sent out even after it expires. I could be wrong, but that is my understanding. I've observed a few of my own that did this, and eventually a 3rd result was sent in and it was validated and granted credit. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong though. :-)

Let's say you've got a work unit that is due at noon tomorrow, and you aren't going to complete it on time.

At noon, if there is no quorum (no three that match) the result will be assigned to a fifth cruncher. If you complete the WU at 1:00pm, and report it, and it matches, you'll still get credit (as will the fifth cruncher).

If, at noon, there is a quorum, you may or may not get credit when you report at 1:00pm. It depends on when the work unit transitions. The odds are good that you will still get credit.

All of that said, returning work late can lead to extra crunching, and is to be avoided.

If that's the case I think I see one that you can successfully merge. It's the one with the 0 total credit. Once they have credit granted it is tough to merge them.

If you select it it should give you the option to merge this computer down at the bottom.
