Post: watch This just in to our Wala Newsroom: "By now all of you in our listening area are familiar with Paul Zimmerman, The Lonely Alaskan Political Fisherman, and his political views. (If you have not then you are either dead or have no form of communication with the rest of the world). Today Faux Productions has offered Mr Zimmerman his own reality Stage debut. Faux Productions says the show called "The Life and Times of Zippy" will only be available for viewing at the Alaskan Adult Entertainment Center(Patron must supply their own lubricant and boots)(no animals please) "No money, have no fear..it has been announced that you will get paid to view this show. Each patron will recieve three dollars or two fresh fish for their attendance. Show is funded by "The Paul Zimmerman Bush and Republican Bashing Consortieum" Update Update Update Update Update Update The cash payment of three dollars was just a ruse perpetraited by Mr Zimmerman in an attempt to draw anyone to the show, Faux Productions pulled the plug and cancelled the show within minutes before it's opening After The Adult Theater Operator complained that their fees were paid by Mr. Zimmerman in Xerox Copied Fish. Police stopped two Semi's carrying Bovine Fecal Matter(although it was rumored to have been human) used in Mr. Zimmerman's Story, from dumping their loads at the theater also. The trucking company has threatened a law suit.Mr Stench, a representative from the trucking company was heard asking "what am I supposed to do with all this shit? Locals suggested that he dump it around Mr. Zimmermans igloo. Mr Zimmerman stated that his next challange will be to teach "Mental Masterbation" to the masses. He has gone into seclusion for practice. Stay tuned for further developments in " The Life And Times Of Zippy" |

Post: Damn, I forgot all about that. And here in fredericksburg is where they run one of the largest Soap box Derby's, with over 183 participants.as Follows: Largest derby to run today Date published: 6/11/2005 The nation's largest Soap Box Derby, The Free Lance-Star Classic, will take over a few blocks of William Street in downtown Fredericksburg all day today. Opening ceremonies begin this morning about 8 a.m., and the races should start about 8:30. The race is usually finished by 4 or 5 p.m. William Street between College and Washington avenues will be blocked off from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., along with intersecting blocks of Sunken Road, Littlepage Street and Kenmore Avenue. Brompton Street, which will be used to haul the race cars back to the start line, will be open to residents only. Parking will be available near Maury School, in College Heights and on surrounding side streets. The Free Lance-Star parking lots also will be open to the public for derby parking. The 186 drivers in this year's race are competing for a spot to run in the All-American Soap Box Derby World Championships in Akron, Ohio. Winners from the three divisions--stock, super-stock and masters--will get $1,000 to help cover their expenses for the championships on July 30. Listen to WWUZ, WFLS and WYSK to see if the Soap Box Derby has been cancelled due to rain. Should that happen, the race will be held tomorrow. For results of the race, visit Fredericksburg.com. |

I do enjoy some Cart racing, and some Open wheeled racing..just prefer Nascar. I used to have season Pass, until a few years back, When my health no longer allowed me to travel. I will say in my younger yeas though...If it had an engine, and tires..i would watch it. Respectfully, Rocky |

Post: More 'secret' memos keep being disclosed ....“US plans assume, as a minimum, the use of British bases in Cyprus and Diego Garcia,” the briefing paper warned. This meant that issues of legality “would arise virtually whatever option ministers choose with regard to UK participation”. ....The document said the only way the allies could justify military action was to place Saddam Hussein in a position where he ignored or rejected a United Nations ultimatum ordering him to co-operate with the weapons inspectors. But it warned this would be difficult. As of May, the Congressional Research Service estimated that Congress has approved $208 billion for the war in Iraq since 2003.
* Well Paulie, You managed to dig up more info to spam Our boards with. The biggest thing I find in your posts, are a Government preparing for whatever may come. Paul you attempt to use these Links to further your ideology that we should be living in Utopia, instead of living UNDER the tyrannical rule of the REPUBLICANS. Yet you offer no personal opinions of how that can be accomplished short of "killing Off" all that do not heed what you say. You may be able to bullshit some of the people that are on Our Boards, and Maybe some of the New Ones, that will be legitimately crunching Boinc in the future, with your repetative dripple, But the majority of us here see you for what you are, A "Pompous Asshole". You have been asked to stop spamming Our Boards, but like a child, you get a thrill out of it. You enjoy dissension among the masses. It must be a lonely world you live in. You could not get the attention in your home town that you so ferociously crave, that you continue to take your shots over here. You have the mindset that "They will agree with me before they ever get rid of me". Paulie, honestly that's sad. I would say that your Political aspirations are similar to an "Alter Ego", however to have an "Alter Ego" you must have some original thoughts of your own. You have repeatly reaffirmed how you feel about the present Administration. Enough already. I honestly believe that if you were in one of the various countries "Inner Circles" you too could possibly have a wider outlook on things. Paulie, Take the blinders off. We have had enough of your tunnel vision, and at this point you should realize it too. You made a remark in another thread that if you did start crunching for Boinc, we would still react to you the same way, well you know you are probably right, if you continue on the same path you have chosen. Say YOUR MIND, MOVE ON,it is as simple as that. If you look back to when you first started on these boards it was all calm, then as you got comfortable you started your repetition, repetition....and our responses came accordingly. You know, Start crunching Boinc, Change your Avatar, use an Alias, and start again. There are some that believe in New Beginnings. Have A Lovely Day! Rocky |

Post:
I am voting Obsolete. DirectWay is a great service if you don't need to use VPN, VoIP, any type of Encryption, or you aren't a big gamer. If you are either forget it. The inter-packet latency on the Satellite is extremely high. They gain the hi-speed by using a proprietary compression protocol. If you are doing anything with encrypted packets you are better off on a dial-up. If you do not have a clear shot to the southern sky forget it. It HAS to be locked on target. DirectTV can be off by a degree or two. DirectWay can NOT. The dish in a concrete bucket will not cut it. Furthermore most installers will not install the DirectWay dish on your home. They will only plant it firmly into the ground. So Tony, add another $200 to that installation cost, because the ground install is not "standard".. **You are absolutely right. they would not install for me because I was in an apartment. So I had to install myself. The long process of setting a pole in concret, keeping it level while it dries, and then setting the dish. I have it in 100 pounds of concrete, and the last big storm we had moved the dish 5 feet from the side of my building. I am quite frequently resetting the position with a compass. At least I maintain a 91 strength signal. And now that you mention how Directway gets it's speed, it is kinda useless. As for Time warner and Comcast. They are not offering services to this area for anoth year at least so the people at Adelphi say. There is to much work to do on the service. The people that already have Adelphia in this area, are making there payments to a WSS Communications as of right now. Rocky |

Post: I live in the boonies in South Carolina or the outskirts of a city in Michigan. In SC there is NO cable, and too far for DSL. Direcway costs $600 for dish/modem and $60 per month OR $99/month with 15 month contract. Tony, We need to give it about 10 years, then it will either be affordable for us, or obselete. Post:
I'm for one is dead tired to have to take in consideration these dial up users and those who surf by a mobile phone. I think we should encourage people to get broadband instead, so we all can have fuller experience of our surfing instead of that we all downgrade to that level. At least I wont, no matter what anyone says. If you so cheap you can't afford to surf properly, then you probably shouldn't ... at all Well, Whoever you are, are you the International Spokesperson for Broadband? I have been crunching for years now, and I AM ON DIAL-UP. Because of the non availablity of Broadband in my area. I have a Direct TV satellite, but as said here in another post, the cost is extremely high for the dish, and besides I live in an apartment on the ground floor, (Where you cannot install a dish except in a Concrete bucket) and anyone in my wre would be glad to walk off with it.The local Cable company is Adelphia, and if anyone has been watching the news, they are looking for someone to buy them out of Bankruptsy because of Fraud..So wherre is there service. So until I find another place to live, I am stuck with dail up.\ Now in your quest to encourage people to use broadband, and not regress to us Low tech peons, are you willing to front the money for a new dish.....i think not!. Not everyone has the luxuries that you are afforded. Rocky |

Post:
Rocky, Yes, that project is anticipating that you will be getting WU's that use these new data files soon, and is sending them out to you in advance. You don't necessarily have to have the WU that usese that data file assigned to you yet. They will come! As far as *when* any new WU's come, that is up the the new BOINC core client's scheduler determining when you are ready to crunch more work on that project based on *your* project resource allocation and deadlines for existing work on your mix of projects. Your Celeron machine evidently thought it was ready to begin work on more Einstein WU's and asked for them. Hi David, Well I am at a loss right now as to what to do. I have exhausted all my remaining caches and have asked for no new work on all projects other than Einstein. Still no einstein WU's. I opened the projects file, and there are 3 14MB packets that have been recieved. When I try to update Einstein it comes back and tells me that I have exceeded my Quota of 1, try to recconnect in 11 hours. If these packets are already downloaded, is there some setting I can change where it will release the WU's. Sorry for all the trouble, never experienced this before. Einstein has my highest resourse setting, with Seti second, and the rest even. Thanks in advance. Respectfully, Rocky |

Post: Rocky, Einstein@Home uses localized data files and provides you WU's to crunch from them. This was the Einstein@Home project sending you some new data to crunch, nothing more. It will happen from time to time as all the work is exhausted from each file and new ones are needed. Eventually you'll need to d/l those files again that you refused if new WU's are assigned to you that are called to use them. In short, it isn't the new core client or scheduler's fault! ;)
Thank you David. It just caught me odd that it tried to download 3, 14MB packets instead of the usual 1 packet. Now it seems to be something new and maybe you can answer this as well, It completed the downloads as I checked the files and 2 14MB packets show in the projects file. However it did not give me any WU's on the screen. Is it going to wait until all my other WU's are exhausted before it gives me WU's? This is on my box that has a Athlon processor. The box that has the Celeron processor, downloaded 1 packet, and put 6 WU's up immeadiately. Both boxes have relativly the same amount of "Additional Project" wu's available. The only difference in the 2 boxes, is that I crunch CPDN on the one that does not show the Einstein WU's. I apologize for the length, just trying to understand. Respectfully, Rocky |

Post: To JM7, I downloaded 4.45, and appeared to be working fine. I was completely out of Einstein WU's and have only a few Seti, Pred, And LHC WU's. When I updated Einstein to see if pending credit had been credited, Einstein started downloading the new 14.05MB Work packets, the problem is it started downloading 3 of them. I aborted one 14.05 pack, and at this present time, the other 2 are still downloading. They are different packets with different numbers. This has never happened before even when my Cache was toatlly empty on all projects. Respectfully, Rocky |
