I completely agree that 99.999999999 % of all the posts here are excatley what you wanted everybody giving their feedback after trying win10 and as far as I am concerned from everything I have read here and experienced myself we cannot all be wrong M$ has so completely removed itself from the real world that I cannot describe it. I did try win10(spare drive and oem win 7 key) and did not like the attempt to blend mobile and desktop(it failed with 8 as well) and once I found out about the privacy INVASIONS and DATA THEFT that was the end but 1 big problem when I rolled back to 7 it messed with my primary drive and I had to do a reinstall of 7 and 2 days later I had to change my product key because the key it was showing(M$ tool) was like nothing I had in my posession I could not possibly have mis-entered 25 characters(the entire key was wrong) so even then M$ was trying to force people to switch to win 10. In response I have been working with Linux Mint which is likely my OS of the future I tried Ubuntu as well but I like Mint better. So please everyone keep giving you opinions and try to tell people that you know or work with(I have given cosmic oceans list to 4 or 5 people that I work with to help them) So please tell everyone you know about this and maybe Bill Gates will come out of retirement and refocus his company if not then we will all be looking for a new OS.

I just caught this one a little while ago(kb3135445) installed a new monitor and after start up went to windows update and it showed up in optional updates(for now) glad to know that all of us are watching. Cosmic ocean's list is a great help since I have 3 machines of my own to watch over and I also keep an eye on my in-laws computer as well and I have given the list to several people I work with to help them as well.

Thanks for all the input I can do this without a problem but I think that it will have to wait a couple of weeks I have a vacation coming (not going anywhere but not having to get up at 4 or 5 am for a week is always nice) and hopefully I will have my new mobo, cpu and gpu by then and I can get it all done at one time. Thanks again to everybody for your help.

Thanks for all of the input I kind of figured it would not be simple(still well within my skill level) but a couple of other questions is there a 64 bit version of Boinc that I will need to install(which means draining my cache which I will have to do anyway when I do my upgrades) or will it update without my input. Also I was playing with WET and even when I chose more than the default options it was only showing about half the amount of space that windows shows as in use on the drive. I am assuming that restore points and other things!!!!!! will not be transferred but it still does not add up. Thanks.

Thanks for the help I will assume that an internal drive will work the same as an external(I could pull the drive and make it external if needed) so I will give it a go and see. The upgrades that I plan for my daily driver(as soon as I get my refund) will probably require it anyway so it will have me a little bit ahead of the game. Thanks again.

Thanks but I do not need to buy the media I already have the 64 bit installation files on a bootable usb drive(got the ISO direct from M$ since they pulled everything off of digital river) so I might have to try it and see what happens.

Good evening I just wanted to know if it is doable to upgrade to 64 bit from 32 bit my is a retail key and is supposed to be good for either so I was wondering if I am stuck with 32 bit(my system was not up to handling 64 bit at the time) or is an upgrade possible using the same key. I think????? it should be but who knows about M$ nowadays. Thanks for any help.

Good evening I would like to know if it is doable to upgrade my 7 pro from 32-bit to 64-bit when I did the original install my system was not up to running 64-bit so I did 32-bit but now my system can handle 64-bit(and upcoming upgrades will probably need it to work as good as possible) I have the 64-bit installation files (bootable) on a usb drive and would like to do it now since the hard drive will stay for the upgrades. Thanks for any help.

Good evening just one other thing as far as updates you do NEED to check cosmic ocean's list of updates to avoid to stay away from win 10 and M$ trying to take control of your computer.

Thank you I will do that especially since the first run was off by that much it will give me a sort of benchmark for everything when it goes main. Also 1 question for who ever might have an answer after everything settles down I would like to try running the lunatics app to optimize the performance of my systems but I do not think that my current skill level is up to it without some learning on my part so I was wondering if there is any way to learn what I need to to make this happen because I am willing to learn. Thanks to everyone for any help on this matter.

Good evening I am currently running beta(gpu only) alongside of seti main on my daily driver and when I was watching last night the v8 cuda 50's,42's and a couple of 32's were running in way less time than the estimated time the cuda 50's in particular were running a half hour or more less than the estimated time. The opencl ones I am not sure but I think that they were running in less time as well I will pay more attention when I get more beta work since I have beta suspended right now since I have some ap 7.10's and some v7 cuda 42 resends to finish that were being skipped over by beta.

Thanks again I thought that I could do this I just figured that I would ask first to make sure since I think that the results from many different gpu's will help make the apps better once they go main that is why my dual core is running 8.04 beta and my phone is running 8.01 whatever I can do to help the project to move forward. Thanks.

Thanks for the info but if I set the general preferences on the beta site to gpu only then my dual core that is crunching 8.04 will not get any more work I would like to add beta to my daily driver and set it to just gpu until the gpu apps are ready for main.

Good evening I just want to know if I can put the beta project on my main computer and set local preferences for it for gpu only since my gpu is now idle(had a BIG run of ap7.10's and some cuda 42 resends that are all done now) I would like to help with the beta testing of the gpu apps if I can do this then switch over to main when the gpu apps are ready for main. Thanks for any help.

Good evening to everyone some new M$ BS I was running updates yesterday and it was at least a half hour or more before ANY updates downloaded(7 always has been a little slow when doing updates) but this is crazy I did not have any win 10 updates selected so is this how things are going to be if you refuse to give in to M$ and their BU*^$%@#. Just another reason to show M$ the door. I have a cable internet connection and just 2 days ago I did a graphics driver update from nvidia(350+MB downloaded in less than 30 sec.) So I see this as another way that M$ is trying to force us to give in to their demands.
