It sounds more like its your Mandriva that isn't detecting your hardware correctly rather than boinc.
Open a command window and type
cat /proc/cpuinfo
how many CPUs does that show?

On the page that comes up you'll see change email address, click that
You'll need your password or account ID
you won't lose ant credits

There have been some upload/download problems for the last few hours.
My machines have been able to upload/download WUs for the last 1/2 hour (09:00 GMT) so it looks like things are getting back to normal.
See what your machines do now.

Our computer Dept is still referred to as DP and my username is edp32
haven't had to spool a tape for a good few years though :-)

Did you test this with Chicken's app? I have a machine that can use SSE3 and Chicken's app tested that the SSE2 was actually a faster cruncher.
Same here, specifically this one "SSE2-Intel P-M optimized Windows S@H app"

Well you've successfully downloaded 2 work units (WUs) so you're doing something right.
As you're running windows, start Task Manager, click the Process tab and click the CPU column header twice.
That should show you your WU crunching away.

right, results are in for medium length WU test
SSE3-c2 - N/A
SSE3 - 277 sec
SSE2 - 277 sec
SSE2-PM - 274 sec
SSE2-generic - 278 sec

which supports what I'd seen previously in my own testing but not a lot in it either way

long length WU test is underway, results to follow

The best thing to do is download Chickens test suite.
It contains ALL of his opti apps and will indicate which one runs best on your T2300.
I'm actually running it right now on my t2300, so should be able to tell you my results in 15-20 minutes.

Did you ever find any resolution to this issue? It's happening to me as well and I can find no way to correct it.

After several years of flawless running, I've just got this error (win-xp sp2)
In the end I had to run checkdisk on the drive boinc is installed to.
After that had finished, boinc started up ok

I've tried Centos 4 and Fedora cores 4 & 5
Of those I would suggest fedora core 5
but I'm sure others will suggest a multitude of other flavours
just jump in and choose one, give it a try

I see from your computer list that your now crunching Seti Enhanced WUs.
Seti Beta was the testing ground for Seti Enhanced.
It enabled the seti team to find and fix many problems with enhanced prior to releasing it to the general public.

You're probably running boinc manager on one of your 2 PCs that are V5.4.9 but this one is running 5.2.13 . Its the Pentium(R) III Mobile CPU 1200MHz (laptop?)

I just wanted to explain my history of participating in Seti@Home, since you seem disappointed that I am discontinuing.

We would all prefer to see you happily crunching away rather than walking away because you have problems.

yes you do, this one or at least seti thinks it does.
Looking at the computer summary for it, it says GenuineIntel
Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00GHz, Pentium D being a dual core CPU.

As for the errors, only happening on 1 of your 3 computers and it looks like that computer is using V5.2.13, try upgrading it to V5.4.9 like the other 2

Okay - this discussion on whether to run other programs when burning CDs, did not help me. Furthermore, I don't think that unhiding my PC's might help, because the respective data (OS, CPU speed, free disk space, etc.) are too basic to be meaningful - I actually suppose that thousands of PC's running SETI are identically configured, but don't show the same problems that I encounter on mine.

One of the benfits of unhiding your computers is that it allows people trying to help to see any error message for specific WUs, this could well allow them to diagnose your problems.
Leave them hidden if you want, its your choice afterall but there are benefits to unhiding them.

If it were me, I would right click the desired graphic and select Save Image As,
select a directory on your computer and click save.
Then you just have the task of writing it into you web page.

You just need to do as Aurora has said.
Start Boinc Manager (boincmgr.exe should be in Start/Programs/BOINC, assuming windows) and detach any projects your friend had.
Then attach to projects you want to join using the info from the email you received when you signed up to the project.

the WUs that are failing are the new Seti Enhanced WUs.
You are using Boinc V4.43, upgrade this to the much newer V5.4.9 and you should be ok
