Have you tried restarting your computer?

Edit: Sorry I misread your question...
Try running the BOINC installer and selecting repair.

I found out Ralfy was having problems as well from the BOINC Synergy message boards.

My Windows 7 machine is identified correctly by BOINC 6.6.2:
"Microsoft Windows 7 x86 Editon, (06.01.7000.00)"
